Hello and welcome everyone to 2019!
I hope this year brings you many blessings and dreams fulfilled, that it kicks butt for you and sparkles and shines with the magic of a thousand unicorns.
Personally I’m pretty happy the new year has rolled around finally. ’18 was a weird year for me and I’m glad to see the tail end of it. The festive season is over and time to get back to normality and especially getting back to knowing what day of the week it is. It’s so confusing time between Christmas and New Year, isn’t it? I like to operate on some sort of routine because that keeps me sane but that week in between just completely befuddles me. Anyone else like that or is it just me?
Oh and do you know how I know the season is over? Because the Christmas tree came down today. Once that happens, it’s officially over for me. It’s the 6th here and my mama always said that the tree had to be down by the 6th January. When I asked why, she said the tree had to be down by then because that’s when the catholic Christmas season is over and the orthodox Christmas starts.
Right, Mum.

Are you Naughty or Nice?

Parlez vous Français?
Hello there my lovelies,
How are you all? I hope life is being kind to you.
So….. Do you? Speak French, that is? I don’t. But lots do. And Spanish and Swedish and Portuguese…etc etc.
I have been researching getting my book translated into other languages, you see – what’s involved, how much does it cost etc… Several people asked me if I would translate so I had to look into it – see if it was possible. As you all know, I self-published my first book and will now do the same for my second book and there are, of course, some costs involved with that whole process and if I were to add the costs of translation…yikes! Very daunting and quite expensive.
Fortunately, I’ve found something that looks like it’ll work! And won’t cost me anywhere near what I anticipated. So I may soon have an announcement about how many and which languages it’ll be available in. Yay!

Bears, Booze and Birthdays
Hey there
How are you all? If it feels like it’s been awhile since we last spoke, well you’re right….it has been. It’s been a very eventful last couple of months. Grab a cuppa and sit while I fill you in….

Firstly, I’ve sort of put myself in voluntary hibernation. I know that sounds weird like I’m some sort of moody bear (I so can be) but it’s been necessary and I’m going back there very soon. And the reason is this….I have been so distracted in my life with the million and ten things that have been going on – health issues, family stuff, my own insecurities, writers block and trying to keep on top of everything – that I found myself struggling to find time to write and edit regularly. And I’d get so mad at myself because of it, even over the things that were out of my control. So, the only way I could get around the situation was to put a limit on how much time I spent on any one thing. I had to section off days and times where I lock myself away from social media, from household chores and leave the phone on silent. All to break through the writers block and get my words flowing again. There’s quite a few memes out there that depict what a writers life is like and each of them are true…..here’s a fave one. Credit to the artist – you nailed it.

Now I don’t know if other writers go through this or if it’s just me but a huge amount of my time is spent reading on the publishing industry, learning about it, reading articles and sourcing the answers to the hundreds of questions I have. It’s endless and there’s only so much I can get done in a day. I’m learning lots I must admit, even it’s a little slow. Who knew there was so much more to publishing than just writing? Not I. Finishing the book is just the beginning of it all.
There’s been a lot of personal stuff happening lately too – lots of family events including my birthday recently. Woot woot! Yes, I aged another year. Got a little spoiled in terms of gifts and being taken out for a nice lunch – that hasn’t been done for me in quite a few years so it felt really good. You can ask me how old I turned but I’m not telling…all I can say is that there’s a 4 and a 5 in it. You can decide in which order they go.

What’s that Beatles song called…..?
Hey all,

You know the one….starts like this…..”when I was younger, so much younger than today” ? Anyone know??
If you guessed “Help” then you guessed right.
