That led to thinking about everyone at the table, and what their back stories would be. I thought I'd try to write a story for every one of them, and put them at an event where they'd all be sitting down to dinner - a wedding reception.

Most of the characters in the book are purely fictional, but one of the stories is definitely inspired by the person I met at that event - I'll leave it to you to figure out which one.(less)
