I'm imagining a series based in my hometown Albuquerque, featuring normal people as the characters, who face everyday challenges and work through very real issues. Some stories, like Brynn and Josh's, will be more sweet and light. Some, like Gina and Jaydon's (which is what I'm currently working on) will be a little heavier, with some deeper wounds that need very real healing. Next after that I want to tell Caleb's story. He was the not-for-Brynn guy in Book 1, and while he's a little vanilla for her, he might just be a perfect match for someone else.(less)

When I start thinking of characters in my head, I like to explore all of the rabbit trails and avenues of possibility that might unfurl as they make different choices. As a writer, I get to rewrite scenes that may not have worked out in the real lives of people I know. It's fun to imagine if we'd had the nerve to speak up, or thought of that great comeback, or if we'd run into so-and-so again, what would we have said or done? How might we have wanted that scene to play out? Would it have worked in real life, or were we better off having had things play out the way they did? The What If game is always fun to play if it's approached from a perspective of open-possibilities and not as a place of wishful thinking we get trapped in--that's just not healthy. But played in the right context, it's definitely fun.(less)

Okay, so maybe it is a little early for Christmas. But in the wild world of publishing, it’s never too early to release a Christmas book. So…my newest book baby is born today, Love, Laughter, and Luminarias. You can find out what it’s about in the link. [image error]

What I’d like to share today is what a stinkin’ little miracle this book is for me as a writer.

I’d been working on a different hol...

Holly’s the best

Another excellent addition to the Holly universe! I simply adore these characters, and getting to meet Marx’s family was wonderful. CC Warrens has a gift for taking trauma and horrific backstories and making something beautiful out of

Just what a Christmas book should be!

I absolutely loved reading about Isla and Duncan. Isla is a lovely character, a paraplegic from infancy, whose single-minded focus has obscured her ability to see and appreciate the world and people around her. Du

Very cute!

A very fun holiday addition the the Lawkeepers collection! I enjoy a good friends-to-more romance and this didn’t disappoint! Quick, light, but with plenty of heart and the message of Christ as the heart of Christmas remained central.

Aw, I like this family!

I’m rather sad to say goodbye to the Stones. It’s still hard for me to decide which family is my favorite, but I do enjoy all of them immensely. Noah and Indie are precious together, and I kind of wish their story had been long
