I'm always thinking about the project I'm working on, but if I have a day where nothing is coming out at all, then I find a distraction. I find something totally different yet creative to do. Paint, or play music, sing karaoke to yourself while cleaning the kitchen. Anything to keep your brain engaged, but off the thing you're having a block about. It's a bit like looking for your car keys. You look everyone, and can't find them. But the minute you forget about them and do something else, it's almost like magic that they appear in front of you.(less)

Being from Oklahoma, I had no idea about the Osage murders. For a state to literally translates to "red man," we were taught some minute details about native Americans. And it was usually the same ol' story every year.

Caste by Isabel Wilkerson
Thank you to every open-minded soul who has embraced this book and welcomed its truths and its deeply researched history into your mind and spirit. I hear from readers all the time who say that it has reshaped the way they see the world. 'Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents' is not an argument but a labor of love and a prayer for humanity. Thank you for reading it.

A great tale of a small town with a very unique Buick in a shed. It's classic King "be in the moment for a moment" writing. The journey is worth it. Not scary so much as mysterious and a small splash of sci-fi-adjacent. ...more
