I'm a Colorado native, OR nurse, and National Indie Excellence award-winning author of The Mad Hatter’s Son, An Annie Collins Mystery, the first in a series, No Pity In Death the second book, and The Burden of Hate, which received a starred Kirkus review as "A thriller that offers a master class in suspense." My standalone romantic suspense novel Legacy of Secrets just debuted.

I live in Arvada, Colorado, and write my mysteries from the perspective of Annie Collins an OR nurse. I began writing about the Beatles as a teenager but hopefully have progressed to less juvenile topics. I love this series and I love that Isobel Long, the main character, is a woman of a certain age (LOL mine) who investigates and solves the mysteries and has a little romance along the way. A good read.

Got this via Freebooksy thinking it was an entire novel but it’s only 20 some odd pages. Very disappointing and the story was not intriguing at all. Would not recommend. It felt like a rip off, but it was free so no money wasted

No Pity In Death by Helen Starbuck
"The ending was more left field then I expected which is both frustrating and good! Frustrating since I didn’t guess the ending which is a good thing since I normally can and did not this time."

"Annie and and her neighbor Angel have been close friends for quite a while, and I was happy to see them become more than friends in No Pity in Death. They’re good for each other.

Once again, Annie ends up involved in investigating murders. This time, " Read more of this review »

“The story goes that a public sinner was excommunicated and forbidden entry to the church. He took his woes to God. 'They won't let me in, Lord, because I am a sinner.'

'What are you complaining about?' said God. 'They won't let Me in either.”

“The wages of sin are death, but by the time taxes are taken out, it's just sort of a tired feeling.
