I've been making up stories for as long as I can remember.

My first novel ONE NIGHT AT THE JACARANDA, in which a motley group of Londoners look for love and end up finding themselves, was described by The Sun newspaper as ‘a blinder of a tale’.

My second novel HAMPSTEAD FEVER, published July 2016, was picked by WH Smith for a prestigious front-of-store promotion in their travel bookshops. It tells the story of six intertwined lives one hot summer as emotions reach boiling point. Think ‘Love, Actually’, but in a heatwave.

I'm now working on further novels. In my other life, I'm a family doctor and the author of a string of health books.

You don’t need to read the Lancet to know that heatwaves aren’t great for health. Even without the terror of fires, excess heat is linked with deaths, especially in the elderly.

On the bright side, however, when the thermometer soars and it’s too hot to move, few things are more delicious than settling in a shady spot to get lost in a book. Yes, I have heard of ice cream, but a novel occupies th...

"I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars. I have been left in awe and tears after reading this emotional and poignant story. Such is the author’s skill that I felt transported back to post war Britain in 1918 onwards. The characters were re..." Read more of this review »
