Stephen King says, I think, that he revises twice after his first draft. Hm... Multiply that by 15, at least, in my case.
I have the story of Crosstrees worked out and think it's exactly where I want the characters to be going. But the language, how the characters talk and making the story come alive through words - that's what I'm working on now.
The following is a short blurb followed by a very short synopsis, no spoilers!

When every choice is impossible…
He knows that betrayal is in his blood.
He knows he’s running when they need him most.
But he knows that if he stays, they lose. And losing to the Revelayshun means only one thing.
Death.
By burning, or a new horror.
Crosstrees.

Wil races to save his sister, and the secret of the loveknot tattoo that can save them all.
Leah leads a desperate resistance after Ferule is bombed to the ground, and undertakes a dangerous mission to save her father from Nordproven.
And then Wil discovers that the Revelayshun is bringing unimaginable horror against the kids who stand for freedom and true justice.
The New Atrocity is here.

I aim to have it ready for publication by the end of November - an ambitious timeline, but just gonna go for it!

Brin Murray Brin Murray said: " I enjoyed this story very much. The voice of the main protagonist, almost 14-year old Drew, Normal with a capital N, is engaging, likeable and distinctive. The sleepy town of Lucas – more a widening of the road than a town – is well observed, with a ...more "

The Paradoxical Commandments

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.”
