Often times, my greatest ideas come to me when I am exercising, taking a shower, or sleeping. If I reach a point mid-book where I am stumped about how to write something, I'll think about it for a few days. If I don't reach a resolution, I'll scrap my initial idea and come up with something different. Just like when assembling a jigsaw puzzle, if the pieces aren't fitting, you can't force them.
