Wise Words + Good News

Am I the only one who grew up fearing good news?

Like of course we want to celebrate, we want good things to happen, but also feel the fearful lingering thoughts of …

the rug being pulled from under me

the shock and surprise

the disappointment

the what-ifs

the having to explain why it didn’t all work out

the end of the fairytale

the other pin dropping…

I’ve been thinking about fears and beliefs a lot, and specifically where our programming for certain fears and beliefs come from.

I don’t think we’re meant to spend our entire lives figuring this all out, and yet, I know that there are some beliefs, thoughts, and even vows that I’ve accidentally made with life and the universe, as a way to protect myself from future harm. But that promise, that declaration, or that belief is actually causing the harm. It’s keeping me from creating something new, something expansive, and something that’s right for me.

Each time I’ve vowed…

I’ll never let people in again

There’s no good guys left

I won’t put myself out there again

Each time I’ve believed…

It’s not possible for me

It’ll be harder for me

I’ll have to do it alone…

I was wrong. Thankfully I was wrong. And we’re all able to change those vows and beliefs if we choose.

We’re able to change those beliefs if we become aware that they exist.

This is the essence of what Wisdom of the Path, my new book, is about.

It’s written in 3 parts: Where You’ve Been, Where You Are, Where You’re Going

Where You’ve Been often creates the fear that you feel Where You Are in the present, which ultimately creates limits around Where You’re Going.

But I want us to remember that we’re limitless.

No matter what we’ve been through. No matter what hardships we faced. No matter where we may’ve made mistakes. No matter what.

I share my own stories of growing and learning, that honestly have changed my life. And even with those changes, I still get scared sometimes and have to remind myself of who I am. A limitless being with the ability to create what I desire.

And this book is an invitation for you to remember who you are too. To see your fears as a part of your journey, not a blockade in the way of you moving forward.

New Book Alert + a Gathered Convo w/ Lenora

It’s been a minute since I’ve said hey here, so, Hey y’all!

Thanks so much for your patience. Honestly I’ve got some pretty exciting things going on at the moment and it’s taken all of my energy.

But before I share those, is it just me or has the first quarter of the year flown by? Like we celebrated the New Year and then boom we were given a task list one hundred pages long? Just me?

I’m sure it’s not…lolol.

First things first, when I started this corner of the internet, Gather, it was an opportunity to connect in an algorithm free zone, which honestly just saying “algorithm free” I can feel the pressure melting right off. But “Gather” invites “US” to come together, and with only me writing here it still felt one-sided.

So then I started “Say It With Yas” a conversation series where we build connection and community through storytelling. I did a few IG lives, but I thought….this would be perfect for Gather. That’s what we’re meant to do here anyway. Come together. Learn. Connect. Heal. Laugh. Grow.

I would love to have a conversation with each and everyone of you, I think that’s the best way forward, don’t you? Part me sharing/teaching and part YOU.

Now, I may not get to all of you but, I’ve started, and I can’t wait to share more :).

The first conversation is with Lenora Houseworth and I'm sharing our IG live below!

This book takes you through a thoughtful journey of mindfulness and I stress the importance of self-healing and tapping into our inner wisdom when we need it most.

Through storytelling and shared practices, we’re encouraged to embrace the bumpy roads and obstacles of our lives with knowledge that we’re always moving forward.

Pre-Order’s are sooo important for authors, and I appreciate it truly! You’re here, so I hope you love my work, and if so I’d love your support:

Productivity is all about how much. How much output and the quantity of what is produced.

And when we solely focus on how much we’re doing, giving, or creating, it isn’t fixing the feeling of “not enough time [for me].”

The point of this message wasn’t to completely do away with productivity. We’ve all got stuff to do.

But I wanted to give us space to reimagine what life could be like if our productivity was grounded in what we actually desire.

Because chasing “more” isn’t the answer. We want to be clear and onboard with where our energy is going, right?

These past few weeks of the new year have been a perfect example for me of the practice of doing less and noticing when I’ve given a bit too much of myself away.

The Joy of (NOT) Being Productive.

“I just don’t have enough time.” I’ve felt this phrase enough in my life, that if I got a dollar for every time I’ve said or thought it, I’d have a nice little piggy bank full of cash. And yet somehow, the antidote to not having enough time, seems to be “be more productive.” And I fell for that for years.

Productivity is all about how much. How muc…

Why is [love] important? Well, so many of us are healing for love. To love others. To love deeply and without fear. To love freely. To love ourselves.

And I wonder, can we actually love unapologetically? And if so, what does it mean to love and live without judgements hindering our ability to take the step again? Even if the step is bringing us closer to ourselves?

So many of us are healing to get closer to ourselves. We want to be there for ourselves in ways other people weren’t able to be. We want to be there for ourselves in ways that we know we need.

Can We Really Love Unapologetically?

There are people who don’t care how many times they’ve announced “they are the one”. They will do the couple’s photoshoot 6 times, and send the basket for the bridal party who’ve been in the last 5 weddings, and proudly start their life with new enthusiasm. They will introduce the new partner to their friends with more light in their eyes than ever be…

3 Minutes or Less

As most people will tell you who’ve read The Artist’s Way, it invites you to meet a side of yourself that you probably haven’t made time for in a while.

It’s the part of you before life made you jaded. The part of you before you only had time for errands. The part of you before you judged yourself. It asks you to simply make time for you. To ask yourself questions. And to make space to enjoy life.

As you look back on how your time is spent, do you priotize space for enjoying life? Beyond when you’re on vacation. Beyond the dinner dates and the extravagant moments.

In the in-between? In the small moments too?

Why Everyone Is Always Talking About The Artist's Way

January 1, 2023 , one year ago today, I decided to read and complete The Artist’s Way. I’d owned the book for years, but, I could feel I wasn’t ready to dive into it. It asks you for discipline, commitment, and honesty and I felt my energy was already devoted to other areas of my healing. But without even planning it, The Artist’s Way popped up in my…

23 Things I Was Reminded of in 2023

If I had to choose one word to describe my experience of this year, it would be that it stretched me.

I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone in so many ways. I asked for help more than I ever have. I’ve put my work into the world more than I ever have. I did some of the things I said I’d never do. I committed to my health. I committed to my life.

I lov…

3 Minutes or Less

The disappointment of receiving a no is real. The shock and hurt keeps many of us from asking for support in the first place.

Many would rather trudge along alone than be vulnerable and ask for support, only to receive a no.

Receiving a no after you’ve been vulnerable almost feels like betrayal, even though it may not be. But receiving “no” is part of the process and it doesn’t mean you aren’t loved and seen.

Do you struggle with hearing the word “no” from people you love? Does it keep you from asking for help?
