Growing up, I loved comics and anything relating to superheroes and "teams" where everyone contributed something to the overall plot or situation. I also grew up loving fantasy, magic, and the supernatural. I wanted to include as much as possible into my book while ensuring that the characters felt real, faced real threats, and ultimately dealt with life beyond their normal world in a sweeping epic that could showcase it all. :) (less)

"Let's start with the bad news: 90% of what is in this book can be found in any number of other blog posts and YouTube videos. Also, Brendan Kane puts a lot of emphasis on the size of his following rather than what he is able to do with that audience." Read more of this review »
