Hi Tressa!
Oh Yes! I am working on the fourth book now. It's told from Maya's point of view, and she is amazing. She's definitely not who everyone thinks she is. She's extremely complex and fun to write. I can't wait for you to read her part of the story. If you'd like an excerpt just email me.

I'm waiting to hear from my editor when Harbor for the Nightingale will be published. I should hear back any day now. My newsletter will let readers know how I'm progressing, or check back with me here on Goodreads!(less)

Cover Reveal for the New Aunt Honore book

New Covers, A New Title, and More–Oh, my!

Many of you weighed in on possible titles for this 4th book in the My Notorious Aunt series–Thank you! The title most voted for was: Tempest in a Ballgown. At the time it was a perfect fit because the book began as a light-hearted take-off on the Taming of the Shrew. But Kate’s story turned into so much more. I adore this heroine. After long hours of debate

“My job as a writer is simple. Write a book I’m proud of, and present it as a gift to the world.
Some will love it.
Some will hate it.
That’s the nature of art.”
Kathleen Baldwin

“And I learned all those many years ago to stop listening to what people said, and listen instead to what they mean. Some people speak with honey and intend to serve us poison. You, my lord, speak with thorns but yearn for cake.”
Kathleen Baldwin, A School for Unusual Girls

“Hatred and anger are not the opposites of love, Tess. They are backsides of the same playing cards. It is easier to flip hostile feelings over and find the love and forgiveness that have been hidden there all along, aching to be found, than it is to produce new feelings.”
Kathleen Baldwin, Exile for Dreamers

“In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.”
Robert Frost

“Be nice to your children. They may grow up to be writers.”
Katerina Stoykova Klemer

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”
Oscar Wilde

“Oh, I suppose they’re not exactly gone, those green boys. It’s rather like a sapling turning into a tree. Can’t scrape off the bark, and whittle it down until you find that sapling again, now can you? No, of course not. The sapling becomes an oak. Forever changed. The realities of that war will remain inside us through heaven or hell. Best try and face it, Ty. Running from it won’t help. You’ll never turn back into the innocent sapling you once were.” Robert lifted his glass and grinned. “My friend, we’ve become a pair of gnarled old trees.”
