Three Speeches

The following is a transcript of the speeches delivered during an unforgettable book signing event. It was held at Agenda Bookshop on the Valletta Waterfront on 29 September 2018 to promote my debut novel The Sheriff’s Catch.

Thanks again to everyone who attended a true watershed occasion in the history of Maltese fiction in English, in a year when Valletta was named European Capital of Culture... Read more of this blog post »

"I just couldn't get into this book. I never give up on a book, but i can't read anymore. I am finding the dialect hard and it seems a bit all over the place....I might try again to read in the future"
Skagboys by Irvine Welsh
"I thought it might give me enough back story to make Trainspotting a little more interesting, but I was even more disinterested in this one. It should have been called Slogboys."

F. Scott Fitzgerald
“I was rather literary in college—one year I wrote a series of very solemn and obvious editorials for the 'Yale News.'—and now I was going to bring back all such things into my life and become again that most limited of all specialists, the 'well-rounded man.' This isn’t just an epigram—life is much more successfully looked at from a single window, after all.”
