Beth Partin is a writer, editor, photographer, birder, and obsessive recycler. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, went to college in Washington, DC, and Falmer, England, and lived in the Denver metro area for a long time. She has published poetry and fiction in such journals as Fiction International, Many Mountains Moving, the Potomac Review, and Fringe. In 1998 Livingston Press published her short novel Microgravity. For the Professor: Working Toward Zero Waste at MiddleMoot 2018

Park University hosted the 2018 MiddleMoot in Kansas City, the first in the metro area and the second after a moot in Waterloo, Iowa, in 2017. I was fortunate enough to be allowed, and even encouraged, to make the event zero waste. What does that mean, you ask? And why does that make me fortunate? (I’ll get to that later.)
