Maria Vale is a journalist who has worked for Publishers Weekly, Glamour, Redbook and the Philadelphia Inquirer. She's a double-Rita finalist whose books have been listed by Amazon, Library Journal, Publishers Weekly, ALA Booklist & Kirkus among their Best Books of the Year. Trained as a medievalist, she persists in trying to shoehorn the language of Beowulf into things that don't really need it.

I wrote a spec fic, which I'm thinking of serializing and am about half way through the first book of a trilogy that I'm thinking of as a kind of cross between American Gods and KMM's Fever books. That's the idea, anyway(less)

Forever Wolf was the finale of the first three, but I've gotten a contract for another three. As you might have seen in the epilogue of Forever Wolf, Silver mentions the handful of Shifters who have come to the Pack.
I'm editing the fourth book right now and at present, the POV alternates between Evie, the Alpha heroine, and Constantine, the Shifter hero. It gives me a chance to look at the pack from an outsider's perspective and write a bit more about the Lukani (which is what the Shifters call themselves). Thank you and thank you again,

And it is now listed on NetGalley!

Death needs a do-over.

Azrael---grim reaper, dark rider, devourer of worlds--has messed up. Instead of taking Molly Molloy's soul, he patted her on the back and saved her from choking on a chicken wing.

Now she can see him. Talk to him. Touch him. Say ‘no’ to him. And worst of all, make him Read more of this blog post »

“I'm an exile. A disappointment. An Alpha without a Pack. A leader no one wants to follow. A flashy vessel hiding something unspeakable sacred and undeniably fragile. I am a monster; neither one thing, nor the other, belonging nowhere.”
Maria Vale, A Wolf Apart

“Humans think that what is seen is all that is. That what is spoken is all that is said. But wolves know that life happens in the crowded spaces between what is seen and what is spoken.”
Maria Vale, Season of the Wolf

“Still kind of a crappy wolf.”

The grace in letting dead things fall.”
Darnell Lamont Walker

“If I die, I will wait for you, do you understand? No matter how long. I will watch from beyond to make sure you live every year you have to its fullest, and then we’ll have so much to talk about when I see you again… (Bones)”
Jeaniene Frost

“To run with the wolf was to run in the shadows, the dark ray of life, survival and instinct. A fierceness that was both proud and lonely, a tearing, a howling, a hunger and thirst. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst. A strength that would die fighting, kicking, screaming, that wouldn't stop until the last breath had been wrung from its body. The will to take one's place in the world. To say 'I am here.' To say 'I am.”
O. R. Melling

“He tells me about human weddings, held inside or outside if the weather is mild. The couple wear clothes that are painfully uncomfortable and make their friends do the same. An officiant says a few words that neither party has really thought through—sickness and health, richer and poorer, better and worse—or at least don’t believe will be put to the test. Family and friends toast the couple, eat a little, drink too much, give vases, dance badly, and then run for the exits.”
Maria Vale, The Last Wolf

Hey Janice, I don't know why I never quite see things in Goodreads. I guess I just don't spend enough time here, but I'm trying to be better. Anyway thank you so much! I can't believe the fourth volume is coming up for release!

Janice Loved that line about ....the pill the size of a waterbug. I've seen those rascally waterbugs, before.

Janice I'm sure I will, as I love stories about good guy/ good gal shifters. Have a great day.
