Kev Harrison is an English teacher and writer of dark fiction from the UK, living and working in Lisbon, Portugal. His stories have been published in Things in the Well's 'Below the Stairs: Tales from the Cellar,' 'Dies Infaustus' from A Murder of Storytellers, 'Lost Films' from Perpetual Motion Machine Publishing, and have also featured on The Other Stories podcast from Hawk and Cleaver as well as Tales to Terrify.

His first solo release, the novelette, Cinders of a Blind Man Who Could See was released in April 2019 through Demain Publishing and his first novella, The Balance, will arrive at the end of 2019 from Lycan Valley Press.

The…moreI'm writing a short story at the moment and the main inspiration to start me off was, in fact, a submission call for stories set in a cellar. The anthology will feature stories by Ramsey Campbell and Clive Barker, so that was an incentive in itself. I have to hope that the story will be accepted when it's finished.
The story is about witchcraft and came about after I read an article about houses in my native United kingdom, where cats and other animals were bricked in to the walls to ward off witches. Pretty grim idea. The story will, naturally, only get grimmer from there. (less)
