Most of the time, writers who have a block know what they're going to write next but don't "feel" like doing it. If you know what to write next, write it. If you don't know what to write next, figure it out and then write it. At the end of the day, writing is work, and like every other job - even jobs you love - you have to keep doing it even when your heart isn't in it. So, I think the best way to deal with writer's block is to write.(less)

It lost me when the only female character's motivation was to have children, thus awakening her conscience from decades of being a mass-murdering gangster. The banality burned my soul.
