Steve J. Leatherwood, MA, LPC, NCC, CT/RTC, has been involved in providing mental health therapy, evaluation and counseling since 1970. He began working at a state facility for mentally and physically disabled youth, moved to working as a psychologist in a local mental health program and eventually became Director of Psychological Services for children/family services in that facility. Leatherwood also worked as an adjunct professor of psychology at Gardner-Webb University, was a school psychologist and counselor with the Cleveland County Schools and has maintained a private counseling practice since 1975. I began writing short one-page articles to put in newsletters for my counseling practice mailings to business, industry and education. As I began to collect the 'one-pagers', it was pretty easy to eventually put them together and with a little 'tweeking', make them into chapters or books. Start writing small things, and it makes the larger things seem smaller!(less)
