New Release Spotlight: A Well-Functioning Cubicle by Holly Day

The fabulous Holly Day is back on the blog to tell us about her newest release, A Well-Functioning Cubicle. But first; today is Holly’s birthday, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY my friend. 🎉 If I could bake, I’d make you a chicken cake like this one and have it delivered to you for maximum yumminess, but minimum interaction with people! I hope you’re having a fabulous birthday with lots of gifts!

But now. Back to book content. 😀

Hello, everyone! Thank you, Nell, for allowing me to come back again. I...

Wake Him With a Kiss Turns One

Happy one year anniversary to Wake Him With a Kiss, my darling little story about Lo and Amos and their first meeting at the tattoo parlor where Amos works. It’s been surprisingly popular for such a short story, and that makes me really happy, because I love it. I love Lo and Amos, I love Lo’s cousin Nina, and I love this little moment in time we get to share with them. I love everything about it, and the cover is the cherry on the cake.

*happy sigh*

So I thought Wake Him With a Kiss dese...

Goodbye March

March is such a loooooong month, don’t you think? After the brevity of February comes the neverending month that never can decide whether to be winter or spring. The month that teases you with returning light in the mornings, only to snatch it away when Daylight Savings Time hits at the end of the month. One day you’re having lunch outside in short sleeves, and the next day you wake up to -7C and wonder what the heck happened.

March. It’s my second least favorite month, only beat by November...

New Release Spotlight; The Blood Witch by Holly Day

Hello everyone! Thank you so much, Nell, for allowing me to steal a spot on your blog again. I’m sorry, but I’m going to ruin your day 🙄

As you might have guessed, I’m here because I’ve written another story. This one is a gay paranormal tale about a werewolf king and his witch – who initially doesn’t want to be his at all. That alone is enough to apologise to Nell since it’s an I-don’t-want-to-have-a-boyfriend book, but I see that as a minor offence. What’s about to come is so much worse. So....

Read Around the Rainbow: My Ideal Writing Shack

Today is the first post for our brand new webring, Read Around the Rainbow, and the topic is My Ideal Writing Shack. I was the one who picked the topic from a list because I’m fascinated with the concept of a writing shack, of a space dedicated just for me and my writing.

To be fair, I already have such a space. I have a lovely office in my house with a big desk and space for my fountain pen collection. Aside from the desk, it’s currently pretty bare, though. I have room for book cases and a...

Writing Update

It’s been a while since I did one of these. A quick check in my archive tells me it was January 25 2021, so more than a year ago. I don’t really know why I stopped doing them, but lots of things have happened since then. I moved to my lovely house, I started the Time-Stealing Day Job. And we can’t forget about The Plague, of course. My social media presence has lessened in general, because I want to spend what little free time I have actually writing than on posting stuff on SM.

But I though...

A New Anthology and a Sale

I have two pieces of news I should have shared with you several days ago, but because of the Time-Stealing Day Job, I’ve been too busy and too tired. But today, I’m working from home, so I’m in the morning office with Ofelia Gränd and on todays to-do list is “blog about Love Wins and Smashwords’ sale.” So let’s get started.

Love Wins Anthology

My first ever published story was Unconditionally, the one that turned five last week, and I wrote it for a JMS Books submission call: Love Wins. T...

Reading by the Fire

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’re well aware of my love for the two fireplaces I have in my house, especially the kitchen one. I love a crackling fire when cooking, while eating breakfast, or after a long day at the office. I enjoy sitting by the fire with a cup of tea in the morning, or relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening.

And I absolutely adore reading by the fire. I prefer short stories (don’t I always) by a trusted author that I know I’m gonna love. Or re-reading an old ...

Five Years as a Published Author

On March 4 2017, my first book was published, so today, I celebrate my little queer wedding book with a glass of bubbly. Gus and Luca deserve to be celebrated because they made my life long dream of becoming an author come true.

I wrote more about it over at Ofelia Gränd’s blog if you’re interested.

Have you read it?

Flamboyant book café owner Luca Moretti and geeky doctor Gus Hansen have been together for six years when the Supreme Court ruling makes same-sex marriage legal in a...
