Thank you so much for reading Pages & Co! There's three main things that inspired the first book - firstly, my own relationship with my Grandad. We used to read together a lot, and he helped me choose books, and took me to his local bookshop, and always encouraged me to write. Secondly, it was thinking about what I would say if I could talk to my favourite literary characters - and it was Anne of Green Gables in particular that I was thinking about. And lastly, that I love bookshops, and think they're magical, and wanted to write a story set in one! Hope that was helpful and good luck with your assignment! (less)

Anna James answered A Goodreads user's question: Anna James
It's just research! Some of the books are famously out of copyright, like Anne or Shakespeare, and otherwise it's just a case of checking copyright laws (in the UK, where I live, it's 70 years after the author's death) and looking it up online.
Anna James answered Eils's question: Anna James
Thank you! I'm currently working on book four, and there will be six books total so still focused on Pages but there will be more!

More of Anna's books…
“Books can change minds and change worlds, open doors and open minds, and plant seeds that can grow into magical or even terrifying things. Stories are things to be loved and respected at the same time; never underestimate the power of them.”
Anna James, The Bookwanderers

“Are the things in your imagination less real than the things in front of you? Is this rose more real than you? Do the books you've read mean less to you because they haven't really happened to you? Do daydreams at midday or nightdreams at midnight mean nothing?”
Anna James, Tilly and the Bookwanderers

“No one is too old for a story before bed,”
Anna James, Pages & Co.: The Lost Fairy Tales
