Kimberly Fish is a professional writer with almost 30 years of media experience. The topics she's researched and written about are both fascinating, and, on occasion, mind-numbing. When she came across a notation in an archived Chamber of Commerce book--about federal pipeline project begun in Texas and credited with helping to win WWII--it inspired her to write a novel, The Big Inch, retelling a story too good, too crazy big, to be overlooked by modern readers. WWII also birthed the United States' first organized spy agency, The Office of Strategic Services. Breathing this air expands more than my lungs, it's stretching my soul to imagine life beyond this old earth. But, to answer your question, I always choose a novel set in southern France because the setting is one that inspires my imagination to walk those lavender-scented backroads and stare off the cliffs to the impossibly beautiful Mediterranean. C.A. Belmont's novels are ones that I re-read for mental vacations. Her settings are deeply ingrained in my box labeled "favorite places."(less)

I have a Sebastian Faulk's novel--Birdsong--waiting to be read, right next to some summer-fun books I impulse ordered from Book Bub. There's an Ina Garten cookbook in the mix too. And I still have the new books from Susan Meissner and Lisa Wingate calling my name too. My TBR list is teetering.(less)

Who doesn't love a bit of something sweet after dinner--chocolate, aperitif, ebooks? I've written a novella to kick off what--I hope-- will become a series of full, length, contemporary, wholesome, second-chance romances set in Comfort and featuring women who discover their grit and men who find out that money isn't the secret to their happiness. I think you'll like the sass of my Texas charact... Read more of this blog post »
