T.K. Perry lives with her husband and daughter in a lovely Oregon forest filled with wildlife (there is probably a house, too, but that's less picturesque). When she isn't writing or watching said wildlife, she enjoys making jewelry, pretending to be a photographer, and trying to save the world (a frustrating task since she lacks both superpowers and a costume).

T.K. has a B.A. in International Relations from Brigham Young University, an M.A. in International Politics from the University of Denver Graduate School of International Studies, and a J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law. Law is her profession, but writing is a favorite hobby.

Finding the good

Now that we’ve embarked on our eighth month of things going badly, I realize I have to change my focus. I need to ferret out the blessings in each day and see the good in my life so the misfortunes don’t overwhelm me. For instance, the sun was shining today, my husband bought us tickets to see Wicked, and olives taste good (even when you accidentally open a can of black beans first).

This is the most creative retelling of Rumplestiltskin ever, but the main character drove me mad. I get that she had post traumatic stress or something, but she was so very foolish and then inexplicably brave. Blaise the albino was my favorite. :)

This didn't feel like a novella, but more of a teaser. When it ended, I felt certain there was a full version of the book I could buy somewhere, and in fact did purchase one on Amazon (it's probably no different that the "starter set" I already had, ...more

Though it's well written, this book crossed lines for me. I would have stopped reading it, but I was too entranced with the story to quit. John really becomes the monster here and I found his thoughts and actions deeply troubling. While book 1 really ...more

Neal A. Maxwell
“Patience is tied very closely to faith in our Heavenly Father. Actually, when we are unduly impatient, we are suggesting that we know what is best—better than does God. Or, at least, we are asserting that our timetable is better than His. We can grow in faith only if we are willing to wait patiently for God's purposes and patterns to unfold in our lives, on His timetable.”

“The submission of one's will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God's altar. The many other things we 'give' are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”
Neal A. Maxwell

“Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just like people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.”
Jenkin Lloyd Jones
