Hearing the Unheard

“People start to heal the moment they feel heard.” Cheryl Richardson

Are we truly heard? We might be talking and our family, friends and peers might be listening or even hearing. However, it takes a skilled and skilful Coach to hear the unheard and uncover the deep reasons behind our dissatisfaction and the obstacles catching us from living up to our potentials and dreams.

#FabulousVeilsNovel#Book Review

No Is Actually a Yes!

One of the great strategies to effectively manage our time is to practice saying ‘No’. When we say ‘No” we actually say ‘Yes”. When we say no to urgent and/or unimportant things or tasks we actually say yes to the most significant and meaningful ones.

No is a complete sentence, we don’t need to defend or explain ourselves. We just need to identify our priorities and stay focused on what matters the most.

Coaching – The Past

Time can be one of the major obstacles catching people from change. One of the most important roles of a Coach is to help his client live in the present moment, plan for the future and visiting the past only in a positive way whether to learn from its previous experiences or to extract the resources needed for his desired outcome.

#FabulousVeilsNovel#Book Review

“We each live wearing a certain mask or another. We smile when we don’t really have a reason to. We try to pretend that we are doing well even if we are not. We do so in an effort to abide by traditional and social norms that dictate that we must not appear weak. We must not share our problems.

Iman Refaat takes us on a journey that is too close to home. Raising a mirror to our masks and exposing them. In many ways, this novel exposes female oppression, however, it also exposes that Egyptian men are as subjected to tradition and social oppression as are women. Iman shows that families tend to oppress both male and female children and put them through very rigid circumstances that they both grow to become oppressors themselves.

Iman writes with such passion and talent, giving very unique and creative voices to her characters, whom the reader tends to feel for, fall in love with, and more often than not, get so angry with their behavior.”

The Illusion of ‘I don’t have time”

We all have time, enough time, to do what we wish to do. I strongly believe in this. They key is to be crystal clear at first about what we wish to do and then to set it as a priority. Reflecting on our days, weeks and months, we will definitely find slots of time that are not well invested. Time we spend to commute from home to work and vice versa, time we spend getting ready for work or outings, time we spend preparing meals, time we spend waiting at medical clinics,..etc. Identifying the slots of time we don’t truly invest well is a corner stone in managing our time and leading our lives. Then comes the step of better investing these slots whether by listening to e-books, music, doing breathing exercises, repeating mantras. The secret is to identify the things we have no time for and then schedule them during the slots of wasted time.

It’s not about ‘having’ time, it’s about ‘making’ time.” — Rachael Bermingham
