Award-winning author Lyz Kelley resides in a small community in Colorado with her husband and several four-legged family members. She’s a lover of board games, a disaster in the kitchen, a compulsive neat freak, and tea snob. Plus, she loves writing about everyday heroes.

A healing love is at the heart of her book series. Creating wounded yet amazing characters—discovering what drives them, frightens them, heals them, makes them laugh—is what gives her joy. Lyz is pleased to share that joy with her masterfully written stories.

The best advice I’ve received was from my great-grandmother.

She said, “Set your goals high. If you don’t, you will never know what you might have been capable of achieving.” And boy, did I set my goals high. When I first started writing, I figured it would take me two or maybe three years to write my book. Ten years later, I have my first viable project.

Most writers will tell you that publishing is a marathon, not a sprint—a very accurate description.

The second best piece of advice: write.

Don't stop writing, no matter what. Put your heart on the page and keep going. (less)

Bittersweet by Lyz Kelley
"Bittersweet is a beautiful story of two "lost" souls who find each other and, in doing so, begin the process of healing and becoming whole again. The theme is familiar, similar to others in the Elkridge series, and for continuity's sake, the story..." Read more of this review »

“If heaven existed, she’d just found it. His earthy scent. His stabilizing energy. Nothing smelled better, not even fresh bread from the oven, or a puppy or lilacs in the summer. He filled every crevice in her heart, gluing the broken pieces back together, one breath at a time.”
Lyz Kelley, Blinded

“She smelled like a mountain valley in springtime and made him dream of the future in a way he hadn’t considered possible.”
Lyz Kelley, Blinded

“He liked the way her smile infected him and infused a bit of heat into his cold bones—a warmth missing until he'd opened the door to her flower shop.”
