Writing Music Survey follow-up

WWFC-Writing Music

Yesterday, I asked: “Do you listen to music when you write? If so, what’s your favourite work music these days?”

Thanks to everyone who replied yesterday! I gave you credit under my latest Will Write For Chocolate strip.

Here’s a selection of the responses:

Mel: “Absolutely! I find it difficult to write without it. There’s one local artist that I favor named KC Clifford because so many of her songs mirrored the experiences of one of my characters. While editing one novel, I created a playlist for e

Roll-up e-reader launch on hold

rollup1

Apparently Polymer Vision’s “Readius” is ready for launch but stalled because of financial difficulties. The device has a five-inch monochrome display which can be rolled up into a package about the size of a cellphone.

How does she do it? Read on to find out…

In RL, Jilly Kidd is known as Adele Ward, and is a poet and fiction editor. Her first full collection Never-Never Land was launched by Bluechrome Publishing, and she’s working on a novel.

Persistence pays off

Kathryn Stockett stopped counting her rejection letters from agents after 45. Agent Susan Ramer finally saw its potential, snapped it up, and sold it within a few days. Publisher Amy Einhorn chose it to launch her own imprint at G.P. Putnam’s Sons. See SFGate.com for more info.

I’ve added this to my Writers and Rejection: Don’t Give Up! page.

Emerging from the depths…

The previous two weeks have been much crazier than I would have liked because of my music group being guests at a local convention as well as a bad case of the flu (from which I am just now recovering). Augh.

Apologies for the lack of Inkygirl posts, but I will start posting more as I begin to catch up. For now, feel free to listen to some songs I’ve posted online; I’ve been looking for a place where I can occasionally post music where (1) I won’t be charged for extra bandwidth (2) users don’t ha
