Jolt Intimate

Your hand
Is charged with
Modest voltage
When you

Surprise me
By brushing
Your fingertips
Along my back

Then I know
You’re here
When I melt
To your spell

When I feel
Your touch
And hear
Your voice

“Hey”
Milliseconds
Before I see
You

And I can’t help
But smile

Shto36u3

Hot shot
Shiny new
Centurion
Upon the
Battlefield

Pristine gleaming
Gladius and mask
Frozen forever in
Dismay As

He looks with
Contempt At
Me and my
Older ways

He will kick
And punch with
Steel glove
Stabbing

With sword
To quickly
Kill me
I

Evade and
Block
And laugh
The same as

When any blade
Strikes my
Armor plate
“Come

on!”
I say
To intimidate
And urge him to

Swing
So that
I may
Parry

“Ad mortem
Inimicus!” As
He stumbles back
Not expecting to

Be
Now under
Attack
And

With a mighty
P...

Ides Of May

Feels like a fog.
A haze
Of death
And decay

Hanging off the
Ground
And lingering like
A reaper

Over corpses of
Metal;
Other dead
Crusaders.

I want to join them
And leave this
Dreary, macabre
Battlefield;

To be able to choose
Between two flags
Of old
And new.

I don’t want to polish
My armor every morning
And sheath a sword
Every night.

I’m too young
To feel so
Weathered, none
For the better,

And while these
Dents and punctures
Occurred, I’ve still
Stood right here.

Armor all but gone.
I’ve bee...

Weed Burner

Cough your way
Through the haze
And blast speakers
Shouting our waves

Away it blaze the fire
Make it burn them

We will fuck you up
No need to stop
Or pause the music
To refuel

Our joints and buds
Are that much more
Cruel

Machete in hand
Cut down the land
Slash and burn
Dragon in hand

Crops rolled by fingers
In lips they linger

Away it blaze the fire
Make it burn them

Char their bodies the
Warlords controlling
Meadows of good vibes
With rifles and shotguns

Deliver them gold
Drench in napalm
As...

Dark Synthony

2a.m.
Thoughts and words
Worth much more
Than the day
Before

Endless reverie
While you
Fabricate
Phrases for me

Phantasmic
Dark synthony
You rave and play
Featherly

Like lullabies
You harmonize
Humming
Sparks

Like fireflies
At 2a.m.
These melodies
You synthesize

Thoughts and words
Bid adore
Butterfly sparks
By books grimoire

Worth much more
Than the day
Before

Fractal Violin

Antique wood scalds
And electrons scorch
Rivers as its conduit
Chars a trail
Of least resistance
Right through it

Its scents absorbed
From ages past
Release with the burn
And old water casted

A path in fire
As the sparks dash
Decor in destruction
Fractals in ash

Photographer Five

Keep your tool loaded
And close
Lest you be caught
Off guard
And need to shoot

Sun’s Up, Guns Up – Journal 6/25/17

One thing about summer in Washington is that the entire place is ill-equipped. People’s reactions tend to be a little overstated. Somehow, every single year, the hardware stores of the Pierce and King counties sell out of fans. Every year? Where the fuck are the ones from last year going?

Anyways, the hot weather is in full swing here. 96 degrees today after some pretty damn temperate weeks. It hit all at once this time, and I’m struck with nostalgia of camping trips from last year as well as...
