Teeth of Olympia

Stand down
To the teeth
Of Olympia

Lay down
Like you’re becking
It’s call

Wind down
Feel the wind
On your face

You ain’t never
Felt a force
Like this

Come on now
And walk along
Its hilly tastebuds
Spectating its visage

Take pictures
Of its cavities
Admire its plaque
And bleeding gums

Gaze out
At the teeth
Of Olympia

Watch now
As its jaw
Clamps down

Fixed as its
Broken mountains
Eat the sun

You ain’t never
Felt a force
Like this

Ibila

Sneaking out
Driving out
What we have
We can’t live without

Thrill
Mystery
Exploration
Murmuration

Making memories

Kissing you
After a long drag
Of your cigarette
Flavored nostalgia

I could feel
Smoke rushing
Between lips
Like a

Chemical cloud
Between us

A wonderful
Rough kiss
With lethal
Potential

Corrupting my skin
Collapsing my lungs
Staining my mouth
And venting through teeth

Lips so hot
Our sweat starts to steam
In the day, in the place
That shouldn’t be
And never was

And never was
Raini...

Failure – Journal 7/20/17

I have been a failure more times than I can count, and more times than anyone else could call me names. I’ve started up so many projects that just fell to the side because something else got in the way. Gabriel Morton once said it’s like a bee in your bonnet, you get another bee and you just tear off on it again. That’s creativity.

I was once going to build a carbon fiber violin while I was a junior in high school. Got pretty far in until my engineering friend graduated. Then I was left with...

Aftermath

Brushing my teeth
In the shower

Tasting the cigarette smoke
That we shared in our mouths
Again

Knowing your scent is
Slipping away with soap

Getting coffee to come off
Yesterday’s bender

Induced by you
In a city far off
Of hills and trees
That excel at obscuring

It could have all been
Just another dream

Washington Summer

5 am
Memorial day

Waking up
With my bedroom window
Open

A dark sky of no clouds
As the sun sets in
To sock up
And shine down

Such a chill
A goosebump giving
Feeling of living

Among singing
Jays
Crows
And other songbirds

Red cedars
Pine trees
And an air
Of carefree

I love
This place

Hard to Get

You actually
Did it. Pushed me away from
Kissing you. Nervous?

Things I Can’t Say

I’m so into you
You have no idea

Already addicted
Fallen fast
So dangerous
Impact

I love…
What you do

To me

I’m in the
Palm of your hand

Keep me
Or crush me

Bring a Brand – Journal 7/17/17

I’m listening to “Thursday in the Danger Room” by Run the Jewels, this Monday morning. A lot of words are resonating with recent events and I’m finally having time to figure out what I’m thinking these days. Maybe this housesitting thing this weekend isn’t so bad after all. Just jarring.

True to form, I was able to make a poem out of Friday night, a follow-up to what I’m told is a legendary Virgo Olympus. Which itself already has a follow-up in Abstergo Invictus. This new one, Inferno In Stil...
