Qasidat L Nadin

From the concrete jungle
Beaches of Olympia
I have set sail
In winds’ prevail
To land upon a coast
Of any fresh hell.

Gone are we
On an endless sea.
What bay shore
Upon we may prey
As predators is what
We hunt for:

Experiences.
Made memories.
Us both are
Birds of prey.
Into abyss
Let’s interplay.

Overwritten – Journal 7/26/17

Going out tonight, and I hope I’ll be able to pull some pictures of cityscapes to balance out all this nature that’s been going on here in Radio Reality City.

I’ve been concerned for a long time that natural stuff influences me quite heavily, and lately I’ve been looking at why that is. Back in 2014 or so, I was much more influenced by cities and the tangle. I still am to the degree I was, but nature has picked up a lot of steam for its appearances in my work. Flicking through the pictures I...

Holy

You’ve called me “love”
And “babe” and
I know now today
We’ve entwined pathways

What feelings we have
We’ve danced around
I’ve got murmurations
To the point I’m proud

To say you’ve fracked me
To say you’ve cracked me

There’s no other way to say
You’re my cup of tea

My armor’s broken down
My lost moxie you’ve found

Surrounded
By ecstacy
You’ve made a wellspring
Carefree

Rifts and exposures and
Fissures of fountains
Emotions from skin
Communicated when

What feelings we have
Are danced around
Pa...

Sunset From Stewart

Shot with a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS; f/5.6; 1/1000; ISO-400; 48mm

Sometimes I’ll take photos while I’m driving. This one, thankfully, I was at a full stop on a bridge. Just had to grab that sunset.

Armor Gone

Every day
You reach out to me
To touch
And unlash the straps
That keep my cuirass
Fastened to my chest

You feel the lines
On my helmet
From scrapes and scraps
Alike

And still you’re there
To take my blood iron
Bullets and unchamber them
Slowly

My weapons
You take and toss aside
Hands brushing mine
And they feel so soft

No wounds or trauma
Have frightened you away

You’d rather wait to be
Able to tend to them

Gunshot wounds
Bruises
Cuts that soak
Through my clothes

I’m not
A knight in
Shining a...

Amateur Galaxy

Never thought I’d be able to get a photo like this. Thank you, clear night sky and low light pollution. I did it.

My 1981

Cosmic gallantry
With beasts
Lovecraftian
In a city
That never was

Where water floats
And energy drinks

Where the music
Is loud
And the vibe
Is free

Where the people
And the places
Pop in and out
And still displaced

Appear all at once
At their own will
Wherever they want
On trees and hills

That make the land
Of this city
That shouldn’t be
And never was

Into the Great Unknown – Journal 7/23/17

Every time I sit down and start one of these journals I start to think of a great way to segue into whatever topic’s on my mind. Which is never the easiest thing, otherwise I’d take my wit to the stand up circuit. So instead I just have to begin where this journal starts. At the end of the last one.

Last time: I was telling you about how much of a failure I’ve been and how human it is to fail. How philosophical of me. Well my failures must be severely outweighed by successes because I’m still...

This Battlefield

Is littered with necklaces
Symbols
Shared shirts
And sweet scents

Scattered with papers
Upon which are words
Wonderfully verse
To illicit emotion

Yellowing forever
Among the dirt
And bodies
And outposts

They pick up
In wind and fly
Into barbed wire
To be eviscerated

There are odd weapons
Rapiers of princes
Hellish spears
Knight’s broadswords
Shields aplenty

Blood iron
Taken from hundreds
Of memories
To forge with it
A blade of old wounds

Fortifications
Memories and thoughts
Dead men
Telling n...
