ADV WRI WRKSHP – J-DAY
On May 30th, 2017, the world had it’s first official J-Day. Rules were in my Advanced Writing class under Corrina Wycoff in Spring of 2017 that we had three authors workshopped a day (our of 12) and everybody else had one of the authors to critique. In this instance, I was the only one scheduled for the day. So instead of letting that fact get away from me, I was enabled to bring a massive packet of material to ring in J-Day.

I Love You
I’m a coward
For being
So good with
Words
Yet not being
Able
To say
Those three

Satisfaction – Journal 8/23/17
It’s when you finally can knuckle down and start a short story centered around H O R R O R!! It finally happened after so long threatening, I was able to get 1,000 words out today from scratch about a gentleman waking up after a night of getting blackout drunk at a party to find that he doesn’t know where the fuck he is. I do like some abstract horror, but one of the most terrifying things to me is being totally alone with zero direction. So I’m toying with ideas about where he is, what’s gon...

Perfect. Red leaves, grey skies. Absolutely what I live for.

Never Existed
That kiss we shared
Never happened
V
Your name
Rolling in my tongue
Rolling rain
Between our lips
That kiss
In the middle of
That rural road
Never existed
Another path never
Felt so good

Eclipse and Anomaly
[image error]
Shot with a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS; f/45; 1/1000; ISO-100; 300mm
My camera’s frame rate doesn’t go higher than 1/4000, so I had to settle for what I had when shooting the eclipse yesterday. This rainbow anomaly appeared, and persists in different forms around the sun in all my shots.

1eathwish
Like oil to an android
Synthetic person’s
Solar fuel
Running as hydraulic
Manufactured fluid
Fracked from places foreign
Where glowing crystals grow
And the workplace is brutal
As miners grind with drills
And smash with pickax
Into petrol lightning
Until the mines collapse
To quakes of thunder cracks
Born of deathwish brood
Verisimilitude
Machine’s drive devised by
The deaths of those raw
Sacrifices of sweat in dops
1eathwish?
Dogma.

A Rolling Chant
Lining up for the battle at dawn.
Shields on our arms, we can transform.
We are a sandstorm, nature’s force.
Battle cries loud, this might we roar!
Charging into fronts, we are all fearless.
Our steel is cold, but our blood burns warm!
Rancor in our roots, in our armor of thorns.
Won’t stop now, feel the bite of our sword!
Shields on our arms, we can transform!
Battle cries loud, this might we roar!
Our steel is cold, but our blood burns warm!
Won’t stop now, feel the bite of our sword!

Metal Fist – Journal 8/20/17
I identify with superheroes and villains who have metal fists. Bucky from Captain America, Doomfist from Overwatch, somehow the idea just resonates with me. Just like I’m a fan of sap gloves and the ancient Roman caestus, as well as knuckle dusters and brass knuckles in general.
Melee combat is fascinating to me. It’s taking natural human ability and amping it up. Just like with heroes with metal fists. Everybody has a fist, but what if it hit much harder than natural? The spectacle is genera...
Rapid Eye Movement
Deja vu
Stumbling
Dreamwalking
Coughing up
Bloody hues
Treading
Inked road
Footprints
Pigment anti stains
My clothing
As I become
Purposeless
Grime dusting away
No land beyond’s ash
Powdering up
Blood leaks from a
Broken jaw
That talks too much
