Vance Mellen is a professional LIVE storyteller, filmmaker, artist, screenwriter, novelist. He's been telling stories and writing films ever since he scared myself to death as a twelve year-old at Boy Scout camp.

He grew up in Topeka, Kansas, “The Mental Health Capital of the World,” with more asylums, per capita, than any other city. Here, patients would escape from an asylum two blocks away and jump off a bridge into the ravine in front of his house. To him, this was “normal.” Thus his work is steeped in extreme personal psychology.

He received a BFA in filmmaking from BYU and an MFA in Film Direction from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
