Horn & Dagger Progress
I have finally finished transcribing my chicken scratch for, Horn and Dagger, into Word. For those of you unfamiliar with my writing process, my original draft of a novel is written by hand in a journal. I then type everything out making additions and edits along the way. It is by the far the most painful phase of my writing process because I have terrible handwriting and become easily frustrated if I cant quickly decipher what I wrote. The phrases and sentences I cannot make out become

To Writers
There was a paper notification sitting on the dining room table the other day from my childrens school reminding parents that NEAs Read Across America Day was March 2nd. Plastered all over the flyer were images from Dr. Seuss books as this date coincides with his birthday. I didnt think much of it at the time but later on I found myself thinking about how much books and writers have influenced my life.

Writing Update and Other Stuff
Today I realized that I had not posted to the blog or website recently. I strive to keep these up to date but in the recent past Ive fallen a little short. There have been a few goals in addition to my writing that Ive been focusing on.
One of my goals for this year has been to complete what is called a Spartan Trifecta. For those of you unfamiliar with Spartan races they are obstacle course races over rough terrain. There are 3 course lengths, Sprint (3+ miles, 20+ obstacles), Super (8+

I was behind again on my subscription of Wired, so I did some catching up. Still not at the present but chasing it down.
Idid not finish Jerusalem by Alan Moore but made some serious headway this month. Great book. I'm clocking in at 86% complete for this month and I'm not picking up any other fictionuntilit iscompleted. So that it for this month.
Enjoy!

I found some new Dark Tunes for,Horn and Dagger, this month. In addition I started to findmusic for the newbook I'm working on. This novel(current working title, Lessons of Darkness and Dirt) begins with some very dark emotions (Surprise! Surprise!) and I found myself turning to a very unlikely (for me) musical place for inspiration, Johnny Cash. I was was watching a coming attraction for amovie and the song, Ain't No Grave, was playing in the background. I

My First Published Story
To See the Truth: My First Published Short Story
Forward
In my attempt to become a minimalist I was going through my stuff trying to decide what to get rid of, when I came across my contributor copy of, Welcome to Nod, in which the first story I ever published was printed. Nostalgically, I opened to the index and there was my first byline, To See the Truth by Brian White. Ill never forget what it was like when I opened the envelope containing that acceptance letter. Id been trying to get

The Escape from Darkness
My search for a dark revelation.

Id like to start outby stating that Im spiritually eclectic. I dont subscribe to any specific conceptions of religion, god, good, evil, etc. I also dont hold any thought, idea, or literature as the unmistakable, irrefutable truth. As I grow (spiritually) my conceptions of these things have changed and they must remain fluid if Im to continue to change. With that said, I believe that many religions of the world (those that Ive had the privilege and time

Looking Too Far Ahead
Planning, Projecting and Spartan Racing
I have this problem where I start to create a plan, I think about the activities I need to execute on that plan and then I start to go past those first few steps thinking about how Id change the plan if x or y occurred. This is where the problem begins. I start to project outcomes. For some people this may not be that big of a deal. In fact, Ive heard motivational speakers talk about the benefits of projecting positive outcomes. You know what my
