June 2017 Reading List
A lot of time spent editing,Horn and Dagger, this month but I still did a fair amount of reading.
Here is what I was reading in June.
The Inevitable: Understanding the 12 Technological Forces That Will Shape our Futureby Kevin Kelly: Great book covering some thought provoking topics. I did not feel that this was as revelatory as his book,Out of Control, which was amazing and really gets one thinking about the nature of intelligence, control and the definition of what it means to be human.

May 2017 Reading List
I was immersed in editing, Horn and Dagger this month. I'm also working on filming some short trailers for the novel which I'll share more on in a future post and on the main www.darkrevmedia.com page. So stay tuned for more updates soon.
In the mean time here is what I read in May.
Chaos, Creativity, and Cosmic Consciousnessby Rupert Sheldrake, Terrence McKenna and Ralph Abraham: Great book written in a different style, recording the back and forth conversations between some of my favorite

May 2017 Listening List
Some new bands and new albums this month as well as some old favorites. Another month of great music.
The Deep Longing for Annihilationby Alluvial: This was a surprise to me. I had never heard of them but they were opening for Animals as Leaders so I figured I'd give them a listen before the concert. Simple and powerful. 2 Lead Guitars and a drummer. Heavy, technical, new. Can't wait for more.
The Sourceby Ayreon: Been a fan of Ayreon for a long time. It's not as great asInto the Electric

In Memory of H.R. Giger
Remembering the art andartist that inspired so much of my writing.
I do not remember the first time I was exposed to Gigers work (it was not the Alien movies). I believe the reason for this is that once I saw his art I became obsessed with finding everything he had painted. At the time this was a quest in and of itself. There was no Amazon or online book or art stores. I began walking into all the local bookstores and art supply stores (as well as some not so local) till I found Necronomicon.

April 2017 Listening List
Another month of great music. Here is the list!
The Great Collapseby Fit for an Autopsy: Been listening to this band for a while but this is by far one of my favorite albums by them.
Mesmerby Northlane: Another great band. I found this one towards the end of the month so I have only had time to listen to it a few times all the way through but so far it has been awesome.
Melana Chasmataby Triptykon: Don't remember how I found this one. I think some members of Celtic Frost play on this.

April 2017 Reading List
I had some more time to read this month. I'm at the phase in the Horn and Dagger editorial process where I like to take some time and reflect. I've gone through a few edits and identified some storyline gaps. At that point I work through filling the gaps but do so slowly, giving myselfsome time to ruminate about how those additions affect the overall story. One of the activities that helps me during this process is reading.
So here is the list for April.

Metal Meditation: Negative Voices
As human beings we have been engineered to play it safe. From an evolutionary perspective this makes sense. You follow a standard pattern. If what you did yesterday kept you alive, then wash, rinse, and repeat, increasing the chance that you will stay alive again today. The person that decided to leave the safety of the group, the cave, and the fire in the middle of the night is the first to become prey to a nocturnal hunter providing a valuable lesson to the survivors. From this experience

Metal Meditation - The Path
A meditation inspired bythe song, The Devil's Own by Five Finger Death Punch.
Ive been working out a lot lately, training for the Spartan Beast obstacle course race at the end of this month. I always listen to a lot of metal music and have a few favorites that appear on all my training playlists. One of those bands that make a consistent appearance is, Five Finger Death Punch (they are going to show up in another post Im working on as well) and it was one of their songs that inspired this

March 2017 Listening List
Eclectic grouping of music this month. Some of my favorite bands released new music this month. I also went back to some older music, needing a mood shift and in some cases a heavy metal kick in the ass.
The Eternal Reign by Born of Osiris
Halfway Human by Within the Ruins
The Inner Mounting Flame by The Mahavishnu Orchestra
Language (Rediscovered Edition) by The Contortionist Im seeing the band on April 1st so I was reacquainting myself.
Season of the Witch by John 5 Always interesting,

March 2017 Reading List
I finally finished transcribing, Horn and Dagger, from my handwritten journal to Word. Typically, after I finish this part of the process I take a week or so break from the novel before doing the next edit. This break gave me an opportunity to catch up on some reading. So here is the list for March.
Jerusalem by Alan Moore Finally! This was a long epic book. I wanted to write a review but in the end realized that this is a book that cannot be explained, it can only be experienced. It is a
