Horn and Dagger Dedication
Some people have asked me why the dedication of my last two books was the same, so I have decided to try and explain.
There are three ways of recognizing contributions to a novel. The first two are appreciation and acknowledgments and at times these may even be considered the same thing if you get down to it. But in my opinion appreciation is thanks for all those that have either inspired or helped the author in crafting a book. Acknowledgements, although similar, are more specific. These are

January 2018 Reading List
I spent quite a bit of time proofreading Horn and Dagger this month. The book is in its last phase. Im waiting on delivery of what I hope will be the final printed proof. Im still on target for the March 21stpaperback release with the Kindle edition release close on its heels. With that said here is what I read in January.

Becoming Supernatural by Dr. Joe Dispenza: This book examinesthe connections between mind, body, environment and physics. The author draws some interesting

January 2018 Listening List
This was Ayreon month. I started with, Into the Electric Castle and then became obsessed. Arjen Anthony Lucassen is such a great composer. All the Ayreon albums are awesome sonic epics and if you pay attention to the lyrics they tell compelling and complex stories, something that cannot be said about all concept albums. Where others have failed Ayreon succeeds, from excellent orchestration, composition, heavy progressive riffs, and some blazing technical displays of guitar shredding, each song

December 2017 Reading List
Horn and Daggeris copy complete. Finally! Just like last month I had a bit more time to read. This is what I read in December.
Stealing Fireby Steven Kotler and Jamie Wheal: This was a follow-up to one of my other favorite books, The Rise of Superman. Both deal with the science and application of flow, that elusive state that allows us to rise to our full potential. Whereas, The Rise of Superman, focused on extreme sports athletes and how they attain and use flow, Stealing Fire, broadened its

December 2017 Listening List
I spent most of this month organizing and refining the, Horn and Dagger Playlist, which consists of music from Vildhjarta, Agalloch, Eths, Meshuggah, Black Crown Initiate, Mustard Gas and Roses, Oranssi Pazuzu and many more. The final installment of Horn and Dagger Dark Tunes as well as the playlist will be available on the Dark Tunes siteprior to the March 21strelease of the novel. I did, however, listen to a few other bands outside of the playlist. Here they are.

November 2017 Reading List
This month Horn and Dagger went to the editor so I had a whole 12 days where I didnt touch the manuscript. As a result I had a lot of time to read. Here is what I read in November.
The Way of the Iceman by Wim Hof and Koen De Jon: I was exposed to Wim Hof via Dave Aspreys book, Head Strong and then came across it again in Mark Devines, Unbeatable Mind and decided I should take a closer look. Wim, known as the Iceman, has been performing some crazy stunts, like running up Everest in shorts

Horn and Dagger Updates
As many of you have already realized I will miss my original launch target of winter 2017 for Horn and Dagger. There were a few reasons for this but the main reason was that whileI was editing I kept feelingthere was something missing. It kept bothering me every time I read through it. There was some gap and I had no idea what it was. When events like this occur, whether it comes in the form of writer's block or I just can't figure out what is wrong with anovel, I have a few methods I like to

October 2017 Reading List
This month I completed my quest to theThe Dark Tower. Still one of my favorite book series. I was glad I finally took the time to read it from end to end which made it a much different experience then reading it over the course of 20 years. Roland of Gilead ismy favorite fictional character to date embodying the tragic hero perfectly.
King does such a great job creating the world of the tower that I would dream of the landscapes traveled and often found myself using some of the Mid-World

October 2017 Listening List
Another great month of music.
Phantom Anthemby August Burns Red: One of my favorite albums by this band to date. Great guitar work and they added in some new elements with clean guitar mixed with aclashing of various musical styles.
Path to Nefrath by Haddah: Had never heard of this band before but they have an interesting style. One of the things I liked most about this albumwas that there are some songs with anodd time signature where there is syncopation between the guitars and drums
