L.P. Kirkbride holds a bachelor of arts degree in English literature and has loved to read and write from an early age. She started writing short stories when she was six years old, which she also illustrated (though not very well!) and wrote her first poem at fourteen. And she has been writing ever since. Besides writing she also does art work, which has improved a lot!
Her first love is historical fiction, but she also writes in other genres, such as romantic comedy, poetry and is also working on a children's story.
Some of her favourite books are Harry Potter (of course), anything by Jane Austen or Shakespeare, The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger and the poetry of Wendy Cope and Sylvia Plath.
