Loved this book. Devoured it. Elana K. Arnold is a brilliant writer. Damsel is linguistically rich and so very genuine. A "fairy tale" YA that is NOT all about the prince and the dragon and the damsel. Or is it?

“maybe tonight you're scared of falling, and maybe there's somebody here or somewhere else you're thinking about, worrying over, fretting over, trying to figure out if you want to fall, or how and when you're gonna land, and i gotta tell you, friends, to stop thinking about the landing, because it's all about falling.”

“Writing is one of the few careers for which you essentially train yourself, the other two major ones being juggling and pickpocketing.”
Maureen Johnson

“Not all those who wander are lost.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“After they had explored all the suns in the universe, and all the planets of all the suns, they realised that there was no other life in the universe, and that they were alone. And they were very happy, because then they knew it was up to them to become all the things they had imagined they would find.”
