I take the weekends off, which helps me signal to myself that writing is a profession, and I need to set personal boundaries. Once you have a decent book or story written, send it to beta readers and get feedback. Then listen to what they have to say. When you have a first draft you feel good about, then you can focus on publishing your work. Publishing today is far more complicated than it used to be. There are more publishing options, but also more confusion, so just take it a step at a time. Reach out to other writers and ask questions. Learn what publishing choices are available and then make the decision that works best for your writing goals and lifestyle. (less)
