Ryk Xander | A Character Profile

Ryk (pronounced Rake) Xander…mmmm…Ryk….He’s all kinds of yummy. He’s the fantasy that many women (and maybe even some men) have. He’s the seductive, swoon-worthy hero you can’t help but fall in love with. His name was chosen with care: Ryk means powerful ruler, while Xander means defender of mankind. Yes, he is definitely a powerful defender!

Here’s Tora’s description of Ryk:

piercing eyes that seemed to burn through me and a face sculpted by angels on a very good day of high cheekbones, a s...

Kaige Hunter | A Character Profile

Kaige (pronounced Cage) Hunter…or should I say manwhore, man-slut, pimp dick…well, you get the picture. Just to give an idea of Kaige, here are some of Tora’s thoughts about him:

Kaige and I had gotten to know each other over the past year. He’d tried getting me to go out with him but I’d always refused. I had no interest in dating someone who had a different girl hanging off his arm every time I saw him.

He’d once asked me why he should stop at one girlfriend when he could have two, three,...

Tora Hayden: A Character Profile

Tora, Tora, Tora -shaking my head in exasperation. Tora had a hard time as a young kid and had to fight to get to where she is now. She stands up for the little guy, has enough attitude to fill a football field, and can be one snarky little bitch. She’s also forgiving, empathatic, and compassionate–traits that are her Achille’s heel. I explain here how empathy and compassion can be her weaknesses. She can also be a little impulsive at times and, as a result, tends to get herself into sticky s...

NaNoWriMo and a Paperback!

nanowrimo

I’m doing NaNoWriMo this year. It’s been a few years since I’ve participated. I’m working on book 2 in the Blood Promise series, the working title being Blood Ties. I’m t_kerrigan if you want to friend me! I’m at 9505 words so far, so I’m making progress. I don’t know that I’ll get the first draft finished in a month, but at least I’ll get a big portion of it done. Since I don’t have any plans this weekend, that gives me time to write…and write…and write…

Also, Blood Promise is now available...

How Did That Get In There?

I ordered a second proof copy of Blood Promise, and I’m noticing extra words here and there that mysteriously got inserted into the book that weren’t there before, words that mess up the sentence. I hate it when I’m reading a book and suddenly there’s a word either missing or a random word inserted that doesn’t make any sense, and now I’m finding it in my book! Grrr….

I have a feeling it’s my Word program. For some strange reason, sometimes the cursor jumps around the page, typing or deleting...

What’s In Your Bookmark List?

One of the things in my list is from Thesaurus.com for “perturbed.” Seeing as how Tora is perturbed quite a bit, I guess I wanted different ways of expressing that.

What’s in your list?
