Name That Character!

Right now I’m writing Blood Ties, the second book in the Blood Promise series. It wasn’t until recently that I realized I needed to name a certain character. The thought hadn’t occurred to me when I wrote the scene, since he  gets murdered on the first page. However, he will be referred to later in the book, so I really need to name him.

That’s where you guys come in. Want to get in on naming one of my characters? It’s simple, really. All you have to do are two steps:

Here We Are To The Beginning Of Chapter 4!

So, here we are to Chapter 4 of Blood Ties. You’ll notice I have a word blanked out; that’s for those of you who haven’t read Blood Promise. I didn’t want to give out any spoilers for those of you who still need to read the book.

Chapter 4 First Paragraphs

“Why are we taking the elevator?” Crossing my arms over my chest, I blew my bangs out of my eyes and leaned against the side wall next to the control panel. A quick glance at my watch said it was already past two-thirty. My stomach growled,...

Blood Promise Updates and Merch Is Now Here!

Remember when I mentioned the vendor I was working with to create the Blood Promise purse? Well, here it is…the finished product. I had three designs to choose from, and decided on this one. What do you think? They’re only available for a short time, so once they’re gone…they’re gone and you won’t be able to get one. They’re hand made and about 7.5 x 7.5.  The cost is $18.99 domestic or $19.99 (USD) international through Paypal.  Shipping and handling is already included in the price. You’ll...

Blood Ties: A Clue from Chapter 2 and the Beginning of Chapter 3

Here we are to the beginning of Ch. 3. A lot has already been going on, notably the murder in the preface with Tora trying to figure out why the victim had to die and who the killer is. I’ll leave you with a clue at the end of Chapter 2, and the beginning of Chapter 3.

The clue at the end of Chapter 2:

He handles money by day and entertains whores by night.

He wants to be seen as a god for the rest of his life.

Only a god can be a god; a mere mortal cannot.

He never should’ve tried to become...

Let The Darkness Begin

In a previous post I mentioned my current WIP Blood Ties and how Tora would be led down a dark path by the bad guy. Well, guess what? It’s not just the bad guy that’s going to be leading her down that path but someone she knows and actually likes. Someone who forces her to make a choice…kill or be killed. The victim is someone she put in the position he’s currently in..so what will she do? Kill him to save her life, be the martyr and let herself die, or maybe there’s a third choice in there…a...

Sweet 16

My youngest, Thing 4, recently turned 16 (though she thinks she’s going on 24). Where has the time gone? I looked through old pictures of her…missing her two front teeth, first day of kindergarten, and the list goes on.

It was a bittersweet day, as she shares her birthday with her recently-departed grandmother who she was very close to. So, while we celebrated her birthday, we mourned the loss of her grandma.

I took her and one of her good friends to Chicago where we spent the day. We checke...

Chapter 2 First Paragraphs

So here we are, at Chapter 2 in my #WIP Blood Ties. Tora is on her way back home from Odin’s place in Valhalla. If only I could actually travel like her. #amwriting

Every atom in my body seemed to stretch and squeeze through a tube of space and time. I still wasn’t used to teleporting, and it was a bit disorienting as my cells unscrambled and came back together. When my feet touched the floor, the darkness receded to the morning light and the library came into focus.

“Well, look who’s back,”...

Chapter 1 Beginning/First Paragraphs

So…I’ve been bad. I haven’t kept up on this like I should have. While you guys have been patiently waiting for my next chapter update, I’ve been doing…other things. So, without further ado, the beginning of Chapter 1 Blood Ties. Mind you, this is a #WIP so don’t hold your breath that it will stay the same when the finished book comes out.

“This has got to be your room,” I said to Odin while my eyes traveled about the opulent room layered in gold and jewels. He simply gave a slight smile.

A st...
