5 Steps to a Clean Home – Podcast
Listen to my latest podcast to discover 5 simple steps you can take to maintain a clean and clutter-free home for good.
Step one: Get a cleaning routine!
I cannot express how life changing this is! Even if you resist structure and routines, I want you to give this a try for just ONE week. Everyone is different, so your cleaning routine should be as unique as you. I’m daily speed cleaner. What cleaning style best fits you?
You can download my FREE cleaning printables packs and find the routine that fits your best, or give them all a try before you decide! You can also just grab a piece of paper and a pen and make your own. There is no wrong way to create a routine.
Step two: Purge each month.
Letting go can be hard, but it’s so worth it. Less stuff equals more time, more money and much more happiness. Schedule some time to let go of your unused items today. If you struggle to let go, take a look at the list below and try to pinpoint the “why” behind your inner struggle. Just identifying your why can go a long way to helping you overcome it.
Step three: Know your organizing style.
I feel like I’m beating a dead horse here, but it really is so important to understand your style!
Step four: Create homes for your homeless clutter.
Take a look at the piles of clutter in your home. Chances are these items do not have a current designated home or that home is too far away or difficult to use. Take some time to create homes for your items and don’t forget to take into account your Clutterbug organizing style when designing those homes.
Step five: Change your attitude.
Remember: The only person you can change and control is yourself. Do it for you, because you deserve it.
