Spotlight On Writers
Recently, Dagmara, one of the editors at Spillwords, asked me if I would like to participate in an interview for their "Spotlight On Writers" series.
Even though I consider myself to be singularly uninteresting, I took the plunge.
On March 17, 2018, Spillwords will be publishing the interview, titled "Spotlight On Writers - Mickey Kulp."
I'll send out a link when it's available for your vast entertainment. And I promise to remember all you little people as I sip unicorn milk from my flying yacht.

Rampant Capitalism
I am going to try out a capitalistic caper. It's just an experiment, so play along if you feel froggy.
My latest paperback book, 'Roaming Outward' is selling on Amazon .
Amazingly, some ambitious online book sellers (see image below) are charging over $20 for my sacred tome. But you deserve better. The first ten people responding with United States mailing addresses can get a signed copy of my book with free shipping for the paltry sum of $7.99.
You respond by submitting a 'Friends and Family' payment in PayPal...
1. Login to PayPal
2. Select 'Send and Request'
3. Select 'Send to Friends and Family in the US'
4. Enter my email 'michaelkulpwriter@gmail.com'
5. Enter $7.99 as the amount.
6. In the 'Add a Note' section, enter your name and postal address.
After you are done with my written wisdom, I encourage you to donate the book to a shelter, prison, or local library. If you choose to burn it, stab it, or perform some other ritualistic mayhem, send me a photo.

Reminder: Enter to Win
Reminder: you only have a few more days to enter for a chance to win my latest book.
https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/show/272718-roaming-outward-a-book-of-small-poems
It's a decent book, but don't take my word for it. Clearly, you should follow the lead of a renowned celebrity and really beloved president of these very United States...
"Sorry losers and haters, but Mick's I.Q. is one of the highest -and you all know it! Please don't feel so stupid or insecure, it's not your fault. Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really into Mick's poetry. His books helped me go from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star ... to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius ... and a very stable genius at that!"
~Mick, S.D.G.
No presidents were harmed during the complete,
really top-notch fabrication of this blog post.

Assisi in Motion
I am happy to report that Assisi: An Online Journal of Arts & Letters has been successfully re-launched.
And, I am even happier to report that Wendy Galgan, the magazine's editor based out of St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York, accepted one of my poems titled 'Motion.'
She says:
"There is always a need for journals that hold themselves to a high standard and are also willing to provide space for art and literature that are different or challenging. Assisi has become a home for both secular and spiritual works, and because my vision as Editor is the driving force behind the publication there is leeway to allow for experimentation and change. Assisi is able to publish a long poetry sequence, or micro-fiction, or a hybrid work of literature and art, without compromising the overall aesthetics of the journal."

New Book Release: ‘Roaming Outward: a book of small poems’ by Mickey Kulp
ATLANTA, GA – December 21, 2017 – A new book of poetry by a veteran writer aims to illuminate dark corners of the mind.
‘Roaming Outward: a book of small poems’ by Mickey Kulp contains a variety of styles including some micro-poems that started on Twitter (@mickey_kulp) and later blossomed into something more, and sometimes something unexpected.
“This new book contains a buffet of published and unpublished work, including prose poems, haiku, haibun, and rhymy-rappy-groovy things inspired by the Beat Generation,” says Kulp. But, he warns that, “Some content is intentionally provocative and edgy. Satire is like plutonium: it has its uses, but don’t roll around in it.”
Kulp’s creative nonfiction, fiction, and poetry have appeared in numerous consumer magazines, newspapers, and literary journals. His first book, ‘Random Stones: A book of poetry’, was published in 2016. ‘Roaming Outward: a book of small poems’ is his second book of poetry.

Harvey's Wingtips
Harvey's Wingtips by Mickey Kulp
history fading
even this recently
coming out and taking risks
serious stuff in 1978
be true to yourself
please, I'm your neighbor
don't do this
it's not necessary
too many friends on
the quilt
too young to be
so sick
so quick
be true to yourself
fools running the show
couldn't handle new ideas
easier to hate
than to understand
assassination was simple
blood in the hall and
on the second-hand wingtips
as good a place as any
to finish this
part of a long story
be true to yourself

Ready To Be Seen!
At long last, my barely-fictional story "Hands Unseen" is ready to be seen! I really liked this story, and I hope you decide to take a look.
Torrid Literature Journal (Volume 20) contains a collection of poems and short stories "that highlight the flexibility and power of the written word. Lovers of literature will truly appreciate the lengths writers go to just to create these beautiful works of art where they embed their truth and skill. The final result is nothing short of astonishing as these writers come together with the flexibility and grace of a ballerina who knows how to dance dutifully around the beats of life."
