Six Steps
This is for my fellow writers.
Below is a sweet infographic on the six stage story structure. Thanks to Andy Chamberlain over at the Creative Writer's Toolbelt.

Animalia
Wikipedia has it all wrong. They say:
"Animals are multicellular, eukaryotic organisms of the kingdom Animalia (also called Metazoa). The animal kingdom emerged as a clade within Apoikozoa as the sister group to the choanoflagellates. Animals are motile, meaning they can move spontaneously and independently at some point in their lives. Their body plan eventually becomes fixed as they develop, although some undergo a process of metamorphosis later in their lives. All animals are heterotrophs: they must ingest other organisms or their products for sustenance."
This is more accurate (butchering a quote from Anatole France):
"An animal is a messenger sent to awaken a poet's soul."
There. Much better.

Frisky Risk
Here is a fun little ditty that scalded my brain as I toyed with the word "Frisks" while playing a word puzzle game this morning. Enjoy!

Chase (The Movie!)
I took a few minutes to create a short movie featuring the micropoem "Chase" from my book Random Stones.
The music is very calming, yoga-like flute music called "Courtship Melody" by Siddhartha.
If you have two minutes, take a look. Thanks.

Sandbag
The micropoems I write on Twitter (@mickey_kulp) challenge me to say something in a very compressed way.
Previously, once I released them into the wild, I let them be and moved on to the next soap bubble of thought.
Now, however, I am offering them to other venues so different audiences get a look.
Here's your chance to visit these web sites and enjoy writing from me and authors with actual talent.

Bongo Easter
After attending a fulfilling worship service that drizzled some hope on a parched planet, we spent Easter afternoon with bongos and brews. Those with actual talent strummed guitars as sweet as pecan pie, and we modeled all the tattoos.
We are each contradictions, intersecting here and there with others who match us close enough on the surface. But we cling to those who share our rare and precious bedrock down deep.
(sound of bongos riffing wildly)

Prisoner or Collaborator?
I like this one. It reminds me a little of the Eagles song "Already Gone" that says:
So often times it happens that we live our lives in chainsAnd we never even know we have the key
We say we want something, but do we really want it enough to make it happen? What is unforgivable, is that not only do we know we are in chains, we even know where to find the key. It's always at eye level.
