Nick Vossen was raised on blockbuster films from the 80s and 90s as well as fantasy and sci-fi novels, comics and games. No matter the medium, his love for storytelling grew ever larger. Having always had a fascination with the fantastical and weird, he quickly grew fond of authors such as Terry Pratchett, H.P. Lovecraft, Neil Gaiman and many more. A new realm of horror awaits…

First there was just one, but now the critically acclaimed ‘Box Under the Bed’ series reaches it’s third iteration with ‘Nightmareland’!

Amongst a myriad of terrifying stories from a group of amazingly talented authors; Nightmareland contains two new stories by me. ‘Serpent Eve’ and ‘The Barghest O’ Litlington’ were inspired by the gothic horror masters of old and I’m immensely proud of both.

The Willows by Algernon Blackwood
“Great revelations of nature, of course, never fail to impress in one way or another, and I was no stranger to moods of the kind. Mountains overawe and oceans terrify, while the mystery of great forests exercises a spell peculiarly its own. But all these, at one point or another, somewhere link on intimately with human life and human experience. They stir comprehensible, even if alarming, emotions. They tend on the whole to exalt.”

The Willows by Algernon Blackwood
“The psychology of places, for some imaginations at least, is very vivid; for the wanderer, especially, camps have their "note" either of welcome or rejection.”

“I now knew that life had something profound in store for everyone, and I softly whispered farewell as I felt the sea claiming me, as it did her, as it will eventually
claim everything.”
