Wounded Heroes. Action Movies. Happily Ever Afters.

These are a few of Aislinn’s favourite things, and you’ll find all of the above in her writing. Whether it’s the Soldiering On series – about wounded military veterans starting a security company together and finding love along the way - or her series about underground fighters.

If she’s not reading romance novels or watching action movies, you’ll find Aislinn writing like mad to get the next book out. She also loves to travel to new places around the world, forever in search of the perfect cottage in the forest that she hopes to one day call home.

Hi Maria! Thanks for the question!

To answer your question, YES you'll get more about Duncan and Mandy. A lot more! Right after Guarding Sierra will be Zack's book, which is untitled at the moment. Duncan and Mandy will feature, but only a little. Then, there will be a Christmas Novella (Christmas Tango), which will be all Duncan+Mandy! It's not quite time for their HEA, but they will get a HFN for Christmas.

Their HEA will come next year, after Sam's book.

Thank you again. I'm so glad you are liking the series so far!(less)

Originally, Destiny was going to have her own book in the Soldiering On series (Or maybe even her own book that started a new series). Instead, I gave her a happy ending in Whiskey-Eyed Woman, which also wrapped up Duncan and Mandy's story. That's not to say I won't write more of her! Maybe even a novella or something. But for now I consider her story complete. Thank you for the question!(less)

I Won a RuBY! – and a sale

On Saturday night I was Skyped in to the Gala Awards dinner of the Romance Writer’s of Australia. As I’ve mentioned, I was a finalist for an award, and since I couldn’t make the ceremony, a friend of mine was generous enough to call me so I could see the results of the Romantic Book of the Year for Romantic Suspense in real time.

As you may guess – and much to my shock – I won!

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, said Jojen. The man who never reads lives only one.”
George R.R. Martin, A Dance with Dragons

“As all advocates of feminist politics know most people do not understand sexism or if they do they think it is not a problem. Masses of people think that feminism is always and only about women seeking to be equal to men. And a huge majority of these folks think feminism is anti-male. Their misunderstanding of feminist politics reflects the reality that most folks learn about feminism from patriarchal mass media.”
Bell Hooks

“This sentence has five words. Here are five more words. Five-word sentences are fine. But several together become monotonous. Listen to what is happening. The writing is getting boring. The sound of it drones. It’s like a stuck record. The ear demands some variety. Now listen. I vary the sentence length, and I create music. Music. The writing sings. It has a pleasant rhythm, a lilt, a harmony. I use short sentences. And I use sentences of medium length. And sometimes, when I am certain the reader is rested, I will engage him with a sentence of considerable length, a sentence that burns with energy and builds with all the impetus of a crescendo, the roll of the drums, the crash of the cymbals–sounds that say listen to this, it is important.”
Gary Provost

“Society has put up so many boundaries, so many limitations on what’s right and wrong that it’s almost impossible to get a pure thought out. It’s like a little kid, a little boy, looking at colors, and no one told him what colors are good, before somebody tells you you shouldn’t like pink because that’s for girls, or you’d instantly become a gay two-year-old. Why would anyone pick blue over pink? Pink is obviously a better color. Everyone’s born confident, and everything’s taken away from you”
Kanye West

“Art is not a mirror held up to reality
but a hammer with which to shape it.”
Bertolt Brecht
