Barbara Strickland loves Sydney, her home town, but the lure of travel is always present. Currently working on the second book in The Unexpected Series (a place where love of romance and travel co-exist and something that may be enough to keep her home for now) she is also working on a third poetry book and a paranormal thriller.
Barb has four ambitions, to publish her books, more travel, speak at least three other languages, and own a cat with blue eyes. (And a dog but has to find a bigger place to live first)

I often miss the warmth and laughter and family overload that is being Italian. I would bask in all of that and absorb the lilt of the language and the divine aroma of the food.
However in saying that I have quite a few favourite authors and I would enter their world simply because of the incredible men they create lol.(less)

This part of Africa is colourful, exciting and very different and though I originally had doubts, the experience turned out to be one of the best in my travelling life, and surprisingly safe.
One night though, the second last of our week there, my group and I went out for dinner. We decided as a group which included males (five in all), to go for a walk before heading back to our hotel and walk off what had been a veritable feast. One minute there were lots of people surrounding us and then the numbers got fewer and fewer. It was still very well lit, and it was a pleasant enough area, quite pretty really so we weren't at all worried. I was laughing at something someone had said when I got a feeling that actually froze me to the spot. I felt the colour leave my face. My stomach went queasy and it was all I could do, to get words out. I told my friends we had to go home there and then, that very moment. The strange thing was no-one argued. It was something about the way I looked that made them do exactly what I said. We turned and retraced our steps back to the restaurant and went back to the hotel.
To this day I wonder what would have happened if we had continued. A plot or not, that is an interesting question. I'm not sure I want the answer, even an imaginary one.(less)

One day, One dream…

[image error] Thinking

Editing is the bane of every writers existence. I just finished a good post in IngramSpark, and it did my head in. Im not blaming the article; it was a good article and I will most likely do a post on it later this year. But, for me, it was a reminder of how much is required to follow a dream (both in time and money), and that started me thinking. Thinking is dangerous

Very enjoyable

It was a lovely story, well written with lovely characters and a very lovely romantic flavour, real romance as two different people come to realise there is more to the relationship. All this means that it is hard not to like.

Fun read

A very predictable story with hot sex and well written. No real fairy tale elements but a fun read nevertheless.

Lovely reading

There is something so likeable with the characters of this series. There is warmth, fun, snappy dialogue, lots of sex and some soppy but delicious romance.
Love the tough exterior and the marshmallow interiors.

A fun read

Lots of heart, likeable characters, hot romance and plenty of humour and I like the use of Vets because in a gentle way it does draw attention to the difficulties faced by the returned service personnel. Nothing new but everything fun.
