I would be happy to tell you if only I could pinpoint some common theme of the way I pull words out of my fingers.

But alas: at this point my routine is rather vague and unrealised, to me especially. Perhaps there is a common denominator in something mundane: I write when the sky is three-quarters cloudy, or when a small child sneezes in Tanzania, or when a curious soft beeping sounds from light years away, a searching or a remembering.(less)

"Note-worthy quotes that left me mesmerized:

"there is no story where two girls
get a happy ending. she tells me fine,
we’ll write it ourselves,"

"But picture this: a film where two girls
drown in each other’s eyes,
and drowning is only a metaphor."

“we are holding hands in the barrel of a gun. they pull the trigger, but when she is kissing me only cherry blossoms come out.”
Topaz Winters, Heaven or This

“The wildness of this life grows & grows & continues to astound me with how large it is, how little I know of it.”
Topaz Winters, Monsoon Dream

“Fate is like a strange, unpopular restaurant filled with odd little waiters who bring you things you never asked for and don't always like.”
Lemony Snicket

“Once there were brook trout in the streams in the mountains. You could see them standing in the amber current where the white edges of their fins wimpled softly in the flow. They smelled of moss in your hand. Polished and muscular and torsional. On their backs were vermiculate patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Maps and mazes. Of a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again. In the deep glens where they lived all things were older than man and they hummed of mystery.”
Cormac McCarthy, The Road

“Tell me how all this, and love too, will ruin us.
These, our bodies, possessed by light.
Tell me we'll never get used to it.”
Richard Siken, Crush

“She tried not to think about what it would be like running across the airfield to the radio room an hour from now, under fire. But she did it. Because you do. It is incredible what you do, knowing you have to.”
Elizabeth Wein, Code Name Verity

“Your Majesty would have a perfect right to strike off his head," said Peridan. "Such an assault as he made puts him on a level with assassins."
"It is very true," said Edmund. "But even a traitor may mend. I have known one that did." And he looked very thoughtful.”
C.S. Lewis, The Horse and His Boy
