Favorite couple is a particularly hard choice. You have to love each character in addition to their interaction together. As a girl, I can’t help but love a cheesy love story. A “kiss, kiss, kiss” moment. But, they aren’t my favorite. I love the more subtle love story, where it is not the focus of the story. It just happens. I love flawed characters, characters that surprise me. I want to disagree and then agree with them. I love stories that have these characters somehow find each other. John Irving does a great job at this. “A Widow for One Year” and the “Fourth Hand” both have odd love connections that captivate me. But, I am always won over in “Jayne Eyre” and “Pride and Prejudice.” They are timelessly romantic and sincere. (less)
