“About Last Night” by Ruthie Knox
I was excited to find “About Last Night” from Ruthie Knox on Hoopla: https://www.hoopladigital.com/title/1... which looks like a steamy good boy/bad girl book; I loved “Ride with Me” which I read a few years ago. Excited to pick her up again! #steamylibrarybooks #collectiondevelopment @hoopladigital

“Caught in Amber” by Cathy Pegau
Sci-Fi Romance! Drug addicts in space!
https://www.overdrive.com/media/11390...
This author is better known for her Alaskan mystery series, but I haven’t read those. The SF Romance ones are much more my speed – I’ve been cross-pollinating those bookstore aisles for years. #steamylibrarybooks #collectiondevelopment @overdrivelibs

“Bound by your Touch” by Meredith Duran
I read a lot of romance novels as a teenager, and then took a break for a while because a friend helpfully suggested that they might be giving me “unrealistic expectations” – which was nonsense, but what did I know? I went a read a lot of SFF instead, which gave me different unrealistic expectations (where is my flying car, y’all. I’ve been waiting!).
When I finally got back into romance, it was largely thanks to the Smart Bitches Trashy Books’ website and their large backlist of recommended authors, and some seriously stellar new authors who were coming out at the time. Meredith Duran was one of them, and “Bound by her Touch” is a bluestocking spinster meets rogue story that is just so much more. I read her debut novel when it came out, and didn’t think I could love the next book as much, but I actually loved it more.
It has Egyptology! It has period-appropriate discussions about archaeology! The hero aspires to be as interesting to the heroine as “Canadian Rubbish!” It’s very angsty and over-the-top, but the hero’s sense of humor about himself always wins out. I also love it that the hero is pulled in by the heroine’s interesting-ness, and doesn’t much care what she looks like – her brain so engaging, it makes her beautiful. Is that unrealistic? I don’t think so, because it’s exactly what happens to me when I fall in love – a person’s inner self becomes a part of how I see them, and lends them a shine that physical beauty can’t achieve on its own.

“The Red” by Tiffany Reisz
In Tiffany Reisz’s “Original Sinners” series, there is a character who is an erotic fiction author. And, in a brilliant cross-marketing move, Tiffany released the book which that (fictional) character “wrote” as “The Red” https://www.hoopladigital.com/title/1...
This book is trippy and extra-steamy and I loved most of it thought some of it squicked me out a little – check it out and see what you think! (FYI, I should mention that there are trigger warnings here – check on Goodreads, because I’m concerned I might forget some).

“Love On My Mind” by Tracey Livesay
“Love On My Mind” by Tracey Livesay is today’s rec. It’s a novel about a PR Consultant falling in love with a Tech Genius (which I think should be its own trope-agory!), and Livesay’s writing is delicious.
If you’re a Podcast fan, I heard about this book after a great interview Tracy gave on the Smart Podcast Trashy Books show, and I really enjoyed the podcast as well as the book.

“The Things I Do For You” by M. Malone
The other day I was on twitter, and saw Melissa Blue and Charlotte Stein tweeting about how awesome (and how sadly overlooked) an author named “Minx Malone” is. Well, of course I had to find something by her for my TBR pile! As usual, OverDrive came through for me, with “The Things I Do For You” and look at this description: “This book contains cloak and dagger intrigue, family drama, brothers fighting, supermodels with attitude and hot sex between people who can’t keep their hands off each other.”

“North to You” by Tif Marcelo
I bought “North to You” by Tif Marcelo a while ago, because it’s set in San Francisco (where I worked for many years) and it features a food truck (which I’ve eaten at for many years – not this specific one, but you know what I mean).
The romance is great, but I really loved the relationship between the two sisters, and the dive into Filipino culture. My husband is half Filipino, and everything felt very authentic and true. Check it out! https://www.overdrive.com/media/30344...

“Heartbeat Braves” by Pamela Sanderson
I’m excited to tell you about this awesome coworkers-to-more romance about two young people working at a Native American non-profit in the Pacific Northwest. It’s a debut novel and is full of competence porn, and has a really lovely development arc for the Hero, who starts out as a bit of a well-meaning layabout, when he thinks about the boyfriend his lady deserves, he finds motivation to change. https://www.overdrive.com/media/34555...

“Rookie Move” by Sarina Bowen
Okay, my favorite book in this series is actually “Brooklynaire” but if you’d like to start at the beginning, @hoopladigital has “Rookie Move” by Sarina Bowen on audio, and you’ll love rookie hockey player Leo and his ex-girlfriend Georgia. https://www.hoopladigital.com/title/1...
Why do I love hockey romances so much, when I don’t even like the game? I don’t know, but I loved the details about Georgia’s PR career, too, and that’s certainly nothing I’d do for fun!

“Under his Kilt” by Melissa Blue
I love Melissa Blue’s work, which is steamy as all get out. And, you know, this book has a heroine named “Jocelyn.” So… “Under his Kilt” is a great place to start (snort). Workplace friends-to-lovers. https://www.overdrive.com/media/34339...
