Announcing Billionaires and Bodybags!

There is much excitement going on in Coauthor Land! This month was the launch of Skye MacKinnon’s and my Lost Siren series, with Song of Blood.

And today, I get to announce Keira Blackwood’s and my new series, Forbidden Fangs! Book 1, Billionaires and Bodybags, is coming out on December 15th.

This is a spinoff of the Forbidden Shifters series, picking up just a few months after we left off in Destined in Forbidden. It features a vampire heroine who is also a tattoo artist, and the wolf shifter hero who falls for her.

And it also features her cat. We might even have swag coming in the form of stickers to immortalize this cat.

You can preorder your copy now from your favorite retailer! (Unless your favorite retailer is Google Play, in which case, hang tight! I’ll make an announcement in my newsletter as soon as it’s available there.)

In other publishing news, the Forbidden Shifters series will be coming out of KU very soon, so if that’s how you prefer to read your books, grab ’em quick!

Fun Facts About Song of Blood

Now that Song of Blood is out, I was reminiscing about how this book came to be, and I realized there are some juicy little tidbits about its creation that readers might enjoy knowing.

Before we get to that, two orders of business!

First, Mates and Mayhem is out now! This anthology includes TWELVE books and includes the Junkyard Shifters prequel novella, Filthy Vandal. Click here for the universal link.

Second, Filthy Beast is 99 cents everywhere! For the universal link, click here.

Now for those fun facts about Song of Blood!

Skye and Liza started writing it over Facebook Messenger before moving it to Google docs
They did not plot it out before writing it (something that makes Liza VERY nervous, to the point where she turned into a clingy girlfriend and messaged Skye constantly with questions)
Lysander’s name was Tyler until a third into writing the manuscript
The legend of the Lorelei is a real legend, originating in Germany, and you can visit the statue
While talking about the untitled work-in-progress, Liza called it “the Skyza book”
The book was finished before they realized Avery didn’t have a last name. Liza picked Bennett because she’s a Pride & Prejudice fan
Charles was half elf before Skye and Liza decided he should be half faerie lord
Keira Blackwood, another paranormal romance author (and Liza’s other coauthor) designed the cover
The “real” Song of Blood (lyrics to the tune of “My Favorite Things” that Liza wrote after reading one of Skye’s battle scenes) was a random comment Liza threw into the margin of the manuscript as a joke
Skye wrote the German words that Avery sings to heal Tasha
A placeholder title on their Google doc read “Avery’s Epic Vandemic Tale”
While writing and editing, Liza and Skye teased each other constantly about British English vs. American English

If you haven’t yet gotten your copy and you’d like to snuggle up with three supernatural hotties and fight bad guys, click here for the universal link, or here for the individual links on my site. ❤

New Release: Song of Blood

I’m so excited because a new book came out on Saturday and it is extremely fun!

My friend Skye MacKinnon and I teamed up to write a reverse harem series featuring a siren and the three hotties who fall for her. It’s a post-apocalyptic paranormal setting, full of adventure and steam.

The origin story of this novel is one of my favorite parts about it! While Skye and I were messaging on Facebook back in April, feeling sad about the pandemic and having to shelter in place, Skye sent me an intriguing paragraph about a girl trying to find toilet paper at the store during a “Vandemic”–a vampire apocalypse.

I messaged back, continuing the story, and we went on like that for days before realizing we had a novel in the works.

It is extremely satisfying to have all the books out and in one place. They’re a lot silly, a lot steamy, and absolutely stuffed with shifters and magic and all kinds of funny shenanigans!

New Release: Filthy Alpha

Filthy Alpha, Jase and Blythe’s story, is out now!

Writing these two was such a blast–I haven’t written a fake relationship story before (umm…that I can remember! Correct me if I’m wrong!) and watching these two finally get over their hang-ups and go for it was immensely satisfying! Jase is just a great guy all around, and Blythe’s prickly exterior is her only defense to protect her very tender heart.

Anyway, I hope y’all love these two characters as much as I do!

Destined in Forbidden

Wooheee! It has been one new book after another, feels like. I think October will be slowing down, then November will give me a little bit of a break. It’s just…there are so many stories I want to tell!

This week, Destined in Forbidden is out on Apple Books, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo. This is the seventh book in the Forbidden series, and it’s one of my favorites! As with the rest of them, its stay on Apple Books, B&N, and Kobo will last about a week, and then it’ll go onto Amazon only.

You can tap the image of Grant (our hottie firefighter hero) with his honey badger friend above to go to the universal book link (which will hopefully also take you to Amazon when the book is available there in a couple of weeks)! ❤

“The shoulder is fine,” he said, taking in her appearance. Something about his gaze caused little flickers of pleasure in her belly. He didn’t leer at her like the other guys had done. “You’re looking better.”

See, the fake smile had worked. “Thanks. But your shoulder?”

“It’s fine. Already healed up.”

“No, I should’ve tended to it yesterday, but let me take a look now.” She’d been selfishly involved in her own struggles and completely ignored there was an injured person right in front of her. If the wound got infected, how would they treat it? It wasn’t like they could rush to the hospital.

He lifted up his sleeve. “It’s already gone, see?”

His muscular bicep was distracting and entirely unscathed. Maybe she’d mixed up which arm had been hurt. “Show me your other one.”

Grinning, he turned and lifted his other sleeve. More tanned skin covering perfect muscles. Not even a scar in sight.

“Tell me what’s going on,” she said.

“I told you about magic.” His voice was quiet, his green eyes guarded.

“Magic healed you?” She reached tentatively toward his arm. When he didn’t draw back, she smoothed her palm over his skin.

The contact made her breath catch in her throat and she yanked her hand away. A feeling. More than a feeling—a need. It swirled through her lower abdomen, gathering heat.

“What…?” She looked into his eyes.

He looked nearly as surprised as she felt. “What did you just do?”

“I don’t know. Nothing.” Her heart pounded away in her chest, double-time. She would probably break the blood pressure machine she’d used to monitor her aunt’s declining health if she were to hook herself up to it right now. Holding her hand out once more, she said, a half-smile on her face, “Can I touch you again? For science?”

He snickered, which gave her a jolt of pleasure. She liked amusing him, apparently, although she had no idea why.

“I am a nurse,” she murmured. “I worked in a hospital and everything.” Reaching out again, she touched his upper arm. Again, that feeling of need and desire flowed through her veins.

Grant nodded, as if a question had been answered, but she didn’t remember asking him one.

“Can I touch you?” he asked. “Also, you know, for science.”

“Sure.”

She held out her arm. Instead of running his palm over it like she’d expected, he grabbed her and yanked her into his lap. She let out a shout of surprise.

“You okay?” he asked.

“No, you just manhandled me, you big brute.” But strangely, she didn’t mind. Both of his hands were on his arms, gliding over her skin, igniting that warm feeling of need in her once again.

Blood Bounty is Out Now!

Blood Bounty is available now on retailers!

I could lie to the sheriff and tell her I have a posse on the way, but I’ve found it best not to tell tall tales to the folks I want to pay me at the end of the day. She might never find out, or she might have a charm or two on her person. Charmslingers like me aren’t as uncommon as “proper” folk would like to think. Humans all over the west have been figuring out that life is just a tad easier sometimes with a little magic to help them along. They just don’t like to admit as much because they think it taints them somehow. They’d rather shout slurs at the ones who use it openly. Jealous, I suppose.

That leaves me with one other option—finding a posse in name only. They stay behind, out of my way, and I pay them a set amount upon my return. Best way, really; there’s no risk of betrayal. But the right person has to be a combination of greedy—wanting to take my money, vain—not wanting to mess his pretty face, and without valor—not minding that he looks like a coward for staying behind.

A man walks into the bar and takes off his hat to reveal sandy blond hair. He looks directly at me. His bright blue eyes seem to shine through the gloom, his nose is straight, his teeth all intact as he smiles.

Ladies and gents, I’ve found my posse.

❤ Are you ready to find your posse? Get your copy of Blood Bounty and join Gracie in the wild, wild west–a land filled with vampires and all kinds of scary supernatural outlaws.
