Nicole is lifelong resident of New Mexico, the often misunderstood area between Arizona and Texas. It's the Land of Enchantment...but sometimes that seems as if someone put a cloaking spell on it. Half her family is Canadian. She has a day job at a social-service-type non-profit. Please visit her on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Nicole.J.Sain...
She has always enjoyed escaping reality and considers herself a mid-level science-fiction/fantasy geek--the kind of person who owns a custom-made Jedi robe but can't bring herself to wear it to Bubonicon in August because a t-shirt is more comfortable. Her favorite things include: Star Wars, Firefly, the Avengers, 21st century on-screen versions of Sherlock Holmes, Jeopardy!, wizards/witches,

Nicole Nicole said: " Not your typical novelisation of a film. It reads more like something the film could've been based on--more complex, more detailed, really gets into the characters' heads. "

Fear Itself by Matt Fraction
"2.5 stars

Ugh.... *sighs heavily*. Well, kids, I've put this off for so long. I skipped right over it and went to Avengers v. X-Men when I was on my events kick and I don't regret that. This is mediocre, if I'm being nice.

“This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.”
William Shakespeare, Hamlet

William Goldman

William Goldman, William Goldman: Four Screenplays

J.R.R. Tolkien
“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

William Shakespeare
“True, I talk of dreams,
Which are the children of an idle brain,
Begot of nothing but vain fantasy,
Which is as thin of substance as the air,
And more inconstant than the wind, who woos
Even now the frozen bosom of the north,
And, being anger'd, puffs away from thence,
Turning his side to the dew-dropping south.”

Heh, we can blame it on Gavin being a mutual friend and S. Lynch fan! Yep! :)

Speaking of S. Lynch, take a look at this interview of his which I read yesterday. He speaks about his depression and a lot of other interesting stuff:

Nicole Hi, Armina! Thanks for friending me. Yeah--we have been following each other awhile...I think it all started with Gavin being a mutual friend and S. Lynch fan.
Don't even worry about the time it took you to answer. I honestly didn't notice a delay, as I've been occupied myself.
Thanks for looking at more of my reviews. Looking forward to further comments, etc.

Armina Hey Callista! Thank you for the friend invite! We have been following each other for ages here in GR so I'm glad you took this final step. ;)

I've been awfully busy these last 3 days so I'm sorry for the delayed answer. Just managed to read some of your reviews and I'm glad we have a lot of fave books in common. More comments from me later. :)

Nicole Happy Star Wars Day (May the 4th), friends!

Katy Thanks for the Pratchett recommend! I'll check it out.

Nicole Hey, guys--can you help me out, please? I need recommendations for Batman books. I'm just sort of a dabbler in comics/graphic novels; but for what it's worth, I'm sort of a Marvel girl. While I love the very idea of Batman and love the Christopher Nolan-Christian Bale movies, I have never read a Batman book. I've heard that the first movie was somewhat based on Year One. I also really like more realistic art--like Ron Garney's and Steven McNiven's in Marvel Civil War. What should I try?

Hollie Hehe, yes it has been. Has the weather not been decent by you? o:

Hollie Oh god homework, what's that again? Haha. I'm reading, I've just been more into writing lately. I did read City of Fallen Angels and then I read Ethereal earlier today. IM BAD AT LOGGING BOOKS WHEN THE WEATHER'S NICE OKAY?! haha.
Hope all is well!
