I'm so glad you enjoyed Lucas and Chase's stories! I enjoyed writing them so much and I miss them already. Edge and Sam's story (The Lord's Inconvenient Vow) is out in 4 months - 31 October 2019. It starts out in Egypt and then heads back to London. Sam and Edge are very special for me so I hope that comes across and I do hope you enjoy them as well! Thanks so much for reading and sharing your enjoyment and thoughts on my books - I always learn more about my books reading other people's impressions! Lara x(less)

Sophie, the heroine was very clear to me - a misfit in a large family, with a love of painting and a big heart but always a sense of being out of place. The key line in this scene was when she tries to capture the escaping pug (called Marmaduke) and yells out ‘Heel, Duke!’ and though the pug doesn’t heed her, a real duke does. The Hero, the Duke of Harcourt, takes his title and its responsibilities very seriously and after a tragic past engagement he is determined that his wife will everything that is proper. Neither he nor Sophie considered each other as partners, despite the undeniable attraction between then, but when circumstance and an old rival force them into an engagement they struggle to come to terms with their new circumstances. There’s a light side to The Duke’s Unexpected Bride, but it is also a story about guilt and feeling helpless and realizing what you can, luckily, be very wrong about what you really need in life.(less)

Turning Points in the Greatest City on Earth: The Great Fire of London

I love London. Loved living in it and love visiting it. I can walk for hours and hours and not get tired. All I have to do is turn down an alleyway and a new story presents itself. It’s almost too layered, too full of history. That’s why I find great turning points in its history, like the Great Fire of 1666, riveting. Pretty much everyone has heard of the fire that destroyed most of what lay with Read more of this blog post »

“Imagine you find a book you’ve searched for for a long, long time. You want to rush through it, don’t you? Immerse yourself in it, consume it whole in one sitting. But you also want to make it last, sink into each page and let it absorb you whole. This is where you feel alive and you never want it to end, because you know that when it does you will be bereft, thrust out of that perfect place where you felt you belonged, where you were temporarily whole. You want to devour, but you also want to savour and that conflict is both torture and bliss. That is what a good kiss is.”
Lara Temple, The Rake's Enticing Proposal

“I am not covetous, but as ambitious as ever any of my sex was, is, or can be; which makes, that though I cannot be Henry the Fifth, or Charles the Second, yet I endeavour to be Margaret the First; and although I have neither power, time, not occasion to conquer the world as Alexander and Caesar did; yet rather than not be mistress of one, since Fortune and Fates would give me none, I have made a world of my own; for which nobody, I hope, will blame me, since it is in everyone's power to do the like.”
