Shona Kaye is a writer, a bookworm, and a weirdo. She is the author of Blood's Veil and Immisceo and she hails from the island of St Helena; for anyone who doesn’t know, try Google maps—yes, that’s it: the little dust-speck in the middle of the Atlantic. As much as she loved baking herself in the murderously-hot sun, she has spent most of her life in the UK. She currently lives in Somerset with her family and her fur-baby, Phantom, a ninja-cat with a personality as big as the sky.

When she isn’t reading or glued to the PS4 or posing as a semi-functional adult, you can find her procrastinating her latest writing projects.

Greetings from St Helena!

st helena Greetings from the other side of the world!

I’m writing this from St Helena: a beautiful little dust-speck of an island in the South Atlantic, my birthplace and (not coincidentally) the setting for my first book, Blood’s Veil

Ain’t it pretty?

Epic views aside, when I said back in February 2018 that posts would ‘be sporadic‘, I’m fairly certain a year-long absence—from this blog and from UK...

More of Shona's books…
“Real people, smart or otherwise, sometimes make stupid choices, and despite judgment, whether from other writers, readers, or haters, books with outwardly stupid characters making stupid choices will continue to sell, because if you dig a little deeper, you’ll find a reason for a character’s moment of idiocy; and more notably, this moment of idiocy amidst the chaos of life is real and relatable.”
Shona Moyce

“No matter how bleak and black her existence became, the familiar sight of the moon restored something within her, small as it was—like tiny fluttering wings of flame beating back the darkness.”
Shona Moyce, Immisceo Taken

“Realisation danced across his face; she saw the hurt in his eyes. And a twisted, darker piece of her almost enjoyed it. The air in the room, stale with blood and sweat, and pure horror, hummed in the aftermath of her words. And finally, Ella knew what had to be done.”
Shona Moyce, Blood's Veil
